Located within the verdant grounds of Taronga Zoo, the Wildlife Retreat offers an unparalleled experience for nature lovers. The hotel is a mere 15-minute ferry ride from Sydney CBD, placing guests in close proximity to the city’s vibrant attractions. The hotel is approximately a 30-minute drive from Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD). Airport transfers are not included in your package, please plan accordingly.

7-Day Change of Mind ‘No Questions Asked’ Refund Guarantee: Things don’t always work out. Our 7-day Change of Mind Guarantee is there to help. Bookings (except for cruise bookings, flights and deposit fee, if applicable, which are subject to the cancellation terms of the relevant supplier) may be cancelled with a full refund provided that cancellation occurs strictly within 7 days from the date of purchase and provided that the cancellation is made no less than 14 days prior to the check-in date. Excludes flight and service fee, if applicable.

Flexible Cancellation: You can cancel your booking for credit up until 21 days before the original check-in date. This can be done via self-service in your ‘My Escapes’ account. Your credit will be valid for 12 months from the date of cancellation. Credits are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Excludes service fee, if applicable.

Please note this does not apply to flights booked with us. Flight fulfilment is provided by the airline(s) selected at the time of finalising the booking. For your air travel, you are bound by the terms and conditions and fare rules of the selected airline(s).

Date Changes: If you need to amend your booking, you can self-service unlimited date changes in your ‘My Escapes’ account up until 21 days before your original check-in date. If you can’t find a suitable date, or still need further assistance, please contact our 24/7 customer service team. Subject to availability and surcharges.

Please Note:

• Daily buffet breakfast is available at Me-Gal Restaurant from 7am to 10am.
• Guests are not permitted to touch or hold any of the animals including during animal encounters.
• For the koala encounter and zoo walks, an itinerary will be provided to guests on arrival and you will be able to select your preferred day and time.
• Koala encounters are guided by a specialised koala keeper. Guests are not permitted to touch or hold the koalas.
• The night-time guided tour takes place after zoo hours. If you choose to have dinner before your tour at Me-Gal restaurant, please allow two hours to enjoy your meal before heading out to explore.
• The sanctuary tour runs daily between 3pm and 5pm. You will be assigned a tour time at check-in. If you have a preferred time please contact the hotel directly to request. Sanctuary tours occur daily and can be booked for multiple nights during your stay, subject to availability. Please meet at N’Gurra Lounge at least five minutes before your tour departure time.
• The guided morning zoo walk takes place before zoo opening hours.
• Food and beverage credit: The included credit can be used on the casual dining menu and drinks from the bar at N’Gurra Lounge, or can be put towards the total bill at Me’Gal for lunch or dinner. The included credit must be used during your stay. Any unused credit will be forfeited and is not transferable or redeemable for cash.
• Guests will have full access to Taronga Zoo during their stay within opening hours. Your room key will give you access from a private entrance within the Wildlife Retreat.
• Complimentary self-parking is accessible 24 hours a day, and you are able to come and go as you please. However, you will need to provide your parking ticket to reception to validate your exit each time.
• It is recommended to book Me-Gal for lunch or dinner prior to arrival. Me-Gal is open for lunch Thursday to Sunday and open for dinner every night.
• A physical credit card must be presented on check-in for a A$100 fully refundable pre-authorisation deposit for any incidentals during the stay.
• Balloons and confetti are not allowed on the premises as they pose a significant risk to wildlife on site.
• The Wildlife Retreat is a non-smoking property. Smoking is only permitted outside of the site boundary.
