Thursday Island

Sail in to Thursday Island where you’ll delve into the captivating story of its pearling history and multicultural influences. Take advantage of free time to immerse yourself in the island’s offerings, from exploring the renowned Gab Titui Cultural Centre to indulging in local shopping, allowing you to fully embrace the island’s cultural heritage and unique charm.

Witness a traditional dance performance and hear the enchanting harmonies of local singers.

This morning you’ll visit the Indigenous art centre, observing talented printmakers in action with the opportunity to purchase any pieces that catch your eye. Indulge in a mouthwatering traditional lunch prepared by the local community, featuring an array of locally caught fish and crayfish. Afterwards, spend a delightful afternoon swimming at a local beach under the warm hospitality of the traditional owners.

Cape York

Step foot on the northernmost point of Australia as you spend the morning exploring the historic sites of Albany Island or Somerset. This evening as the sun sets, raise a glass of sparkling to the view from this remarkable headland and watch the sun gently sink below the horizon.

Forbes Island and Restoration Island

Explore Forbes Island’s pristine sandy beaches, offering opportunities for swimming, scuba diving, snorkelling, and glass-bottom boat tours. In the afternoon venture to Restoration Island, where Captain Bligh found solace, and discover its bountiful oysters and native fruits while relishing in the island’s natural beauty.

Stanley Island and Davie Reef

Arrive at Stanley Island, situated within the Flinders Group, and view Aboriginal rock art depicting the first sailing ships to visit Queensland shores. At Davie Reef plunge into the iridescent waters and enjoy an afternoon of swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving.

Later, there may be an opportunity to visit Lizard Island Research Station.

Cooktown

Wash ashore in historic Cooktown and learn the history of the Guugu Yimithirr, the first people to inhabit this northern land. Then discover its more recent European history at the site where Lt.
