Your cruise begins in Cape Horn and ends in Cairns.
Your cruise departs Cape Horn at 5pm on Day 2 and ends in Cairns at 8am on Day 12. Transfers from your pre-cruise accommodation to the ship and from the ship to your post-cruise accommodation are not included in your package. Please plan accordingly.
Please ensure you arrive in time for your pre-boarding briefing at 3pm on Day 2, boarding will begin at 4pm.
If flights are not included: Roundtrip flights are not included in your package and must be purchased separately. Please do NOT book your flights until your cruise is confirmed. Guests must arrange their own flights from Cairns to Cape Horn.

Day 1: Cairns

Days 2: Cairns — Horn Island
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy Cairns’ sunny shores before making your own way by plane to Horn Island (HID) for your 5pm cruise departure. This evening, set sail aboard the Coral Discoverer for your unforgettable cruise. Join your fellow travellers on the sun deck for complimentary Captain’s welcome drinks to celebrate the start of your adventure.
Please note: it is the guest’s responsibility to arrange transport from Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns to Horn Island’s SailSAFE check-in location in time for the pre-cruise briefing at 3pm.

Throughout your time at sea, experience the otherworldly magic of Australia’s northern coastline. Stops are weather dependent, however below is a glance at the spectacular wonders you can witness along the way.
Thursday Island
Sail in to Thursday Island where you’ll delve into the captivating story of its pearling history and multicultural influences. Take advantage of free time to immerse yourself in the island’s offerings, from exploring the renowned Gab Titui Cultural Centre to indulging in local shopping, allowing you to fully embrace the island’s cultural heritage and unique charm.
Moa Island
Sail in to Moa Island where you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a cultural experience at the craft centre, where local artists will guide you through print, weaving, and jewellery-making workshops. Witness a traditional dance performance and hear the enchanting harmonies of local singers.
Badu Island
This morning you’ll visit the Indigenous art centre, observing talented printmakers in action with the opportunity to purchase any pieces that catch your eye. Indulge in a mouthwatering traditional lunch prepared by the local community, featuring an array of locally caught fish and crayfish. Afterwards, spend a delightful afternoon swimming at a local beach under the warm hospitality of the traditional owners.
Cape York
Step foot on the northernmost point of Australia as you spend the morning exploring the historic sites of Albany Island or Somerset. This evening as the sun sets, raise a glass of sparkling to the view from this remarkable headland and watch the sun gently sink below the horizon.
Forbes Island and Restoration Island
Explore Forbes Island’s pristine sandy beaches, offering opportunities for swimming, scuba diving, snorkelling, and glass-bottom boat tours. In the afternoon venture to Restoration Island, where Captain Bligh found solace, and discover its bountiful oysters and native fruits while relishing in the island’s natural beauty.
Stanley Island and Davie Reef
Arrive at Stanley Island, situated within the Flinders Group, and view Aboriginal rock art depicting the first sailing ships to visit Queensland shores. At Davie Reef plunge into the iridescent waters and enjoy an afternoon of swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving.
Osprey Reef
The submerged atoll, Osprey Reef, is arguably one of the world’s most renowned dive sites, where large pelagic fish, rays, and sharks can be sighted within the crystal-clear waters. Enjoy amazing underwater visibility, and observe magnificent coral, plummeting drop-offs and colourful fish at this dive site referred to as an ‘oasis for living creatures of all kinds’ by Sir David Attenborough.
Lizard Island
Spend a whole day on Lizard Island, beginning with a dawn hike to the summit of Cook’s Look. Here, enjoy the same view Lt. James Cook had when searching for a safe passage through the maze of coral reefs. Afterwards, snorkel over giant clam gardens at Watson’s Bay, relax on the white-sand beaches beneath shady she-oak trees and learn about the tragic story surrounding Mary Watson. Later, there may be an opportunity to visit Lizard Island Research Station.
Cooktown
Wash ashore in historic Cooktown and learn the history of the Guugu Yimithirr, the first people to inhabit this northern land. Then discover its more recent European history at the site where Lt. James Cook beached HMB Endeavour in 1770, before visiting the James Cook Museum and wandering through the botanic gardens.
Day 12: Cairns — Palm Cove
Arrive in Cairns, where your incredible cruise ends. Following a final breakfast on board, make your own way to the luxurious Peppers Beach Club & Spa Palm Cove where you’ll enjoy two nights of post-cruise accommodation.

Spend your day exploring the boutiques that line Williams Esplanade, treat yourself to fine dining or enjoy lazy days along the crystal-clear water.
