Local Tips — Discovering Chikmagalur vistas

Siri Nature Roost is located very close to most of the famous local attractions around Chikmagalur. Around 30-minutes away is the Dattatreya Peetha - situated on the Baba Budan Giri hills, this holy cave site is said to have sheltered Guru Dattatreya and Hazrat Dada Hayath Mir Qalandar, and is a venue for celebrations. Jhari waterfalls, also known as Buttermilk falls, a tourist spot surrounded by dense forest and coffee plantations, with a lovely pool forming at the bottom are 15 kilometres away. The highest peak in Karnataka - Mullayanagiri is about a 30-minute drive. Ayyana Kere, an hour’s drive away, is believed to have been built to supply water for agriculture in ancient times, this sprawling lake now provides a serene ambience to visitors. One of the biggest lakes in the state, it attracts many tourists, especially for its beautiful sunrise and sunset views.
