Arrival and departure airport transfers are only available on the first and last day of the tour. Any arrivals and departures outside of these days will need to make their own arrangements to/from the airport.

Travellers should have a basic level of physical fitness and mobility and must be able to negotiate uneven surfaces, climb stairs and board boats.

Travellers are advised to check with their local health professional at least 45 days prior to departure, as some vaccinations require 30 days or more to be effective. Proof of vaccination is not usually required unless you are coming from an infected area.

Welcome to Edinburgh. After arriving at the airport, you'll be met by a local representative before transferring to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, the rest of the day is at your leisure.

DAY 2 - Edinburgh

This morning meet with your guide and discover Edinburgh, the inspiring capital of Scotland, with a panoramic city tour. From the historical closes of the Old Town to the avenues of the New Town, explore an outstanding city of contrasts plus a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wander along Princes street and watch the magnificent Edinburgh Castle dominate the city. See Calton Hill and its National Monument, giving Edinburgh its nickname: the "Athens of the North".

Next visit Edinburgh Castle.

Edinburgh’s Castle rock has been a stronghold for over 3,000 years. Overlooking the capital city, the grandeur and historical significance of Edinburgh Castle has made it a globally famous Scottish icon and part of the World Heritage Site. Sitting on top of an extinct volcano, the castle gains stunning views across City of Edinburgh and has witnessed many of the defining events of Scottish history.

Visit *Palace of Holyrood house. *Founded as a monastery in 1128, the Palace of Holyrood house is The Queen's official residence in Scotland and is closely associated with Scotland's turbulent past. At the end of Edinburgh's Royal Mile and against the spectacular backdrop of Arthur's Seat, you'll be able to explore the 14 historic State Apartments and the ruins of Holyrood Abbey.

Then, enjoy a free night at your leisure to explore the city. You can consider doing an optional tour of the underground vaults of Edinburgh with a historian who will recall their personal stories. Or enjoy the Taste of Scotland Show, a night filled with traditional Scottish song and dance accompanied with some Scottish cuisine.

DAY 3 - Glasgow

This morning you’ll depart Edinburgh and head to Glasgow.

On the way visit the Falkirk Wheel, a rotating boatlift connecting the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. The Millennium Link was a £84.5m project with the objective of connecting these two canals by way of a boat lift. Your journey starts by sailing into the bottom gondola of The Wheel, which then makes a graceful sweep, lifting the boat up to join the Union Canal 35m above. The ascent takes approximately 15 minutes, allowing plenty of time to enjoy the stunning views of the spectacular surrounding scenery. Once lifted, the boat sails smoothly from The Wheel onto the Union Canal. The boat will then return on an effortless descent that gently carries you over the Visitor Centre and back into the basin by the boardwalk.

Continue to Glasgow and on arrival enjoy a *panoramic city tour. *Overflowing with style and culture, Glasgow offers a blend of internationally-acclaimed museums and galleries, stunning architecture, vibrant nightlife, fabulous shopping and a variety of restaurants. The city tour will take you from George Square in the city centre past the impressive Glasgow Cathedral - the only mainland Scottish Cathedral to have survived the Reformation intact - to the West End where you’ll admire Glasgow’s historic university buildings.

Visit Glasgow Cathedral, also called St Mungo’s Cathedral, is today a congregation of the Church of Scotland in Glasgow. Originally a Roman Catholic Cathedral, the building is a superb example of Scottish Gothic architecture. It is also the only of the Scottish Catholic churches to have survived the Reformation unscathed.

DAY 4 - Lock Lomond & Glasgow

Enjoy a cruise on Loch Lomond.

Loch Lomond, located in Trossachs National Park, is the largest surface area of water in Great Britain and a popular Scottish holiday destination renowned for its beauty and tranquility and offers postcard views around every corner.

Afterwards drive through the national park to Crieff.

Enjoy the Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret Distillery. Nestled at the foothills of the Highlands near the scenic town of Crieff, Glenturret is the spiritual home of The Famous Grouse whisky. After seeing the age-old process of milling, mashing, fermenting and distilling single malt whisky at Scotland's oldest distillery, visitors are introduced to The Taste Experience. The brand new interactive zone will educate visitors about this Scotch whisky and how it is blended to perfection.

Return to your hotel in Glasgow.

DAY 5 - Belfast

This morning take the ferry from Cairnryan to Belfast.

Welcome to Northern Ireland. Upon arrival in Belfast you’ll meet with your new guide for the Ireland part of your tour.

Continue to Belfast city centre and enjoy a** panoramic tour of the city** with a local guide. See the leaning Albert Memorial Clock tower and the Opera House, which is one of Belfast’s great landmarks. Your tour will also pass by the City Hall, the Crown Bar (dates from 1885), Queens University and the Botanic Gardens. Visit Shankill and Fall road to get an understanding of how life was in Belfast during times of trouble.

DAY 6 - Belfast

This morning visit Titanic Belfast.

Located in the heart of Belfast, the Titanic Belfast recreates the story of the world’s most famous ship in an iconic, six floor building right beside the historic site of the original ship’s construction. Journey through the nine large galleries of the interactive exhibition and uncover the true story of the Titanic, from her construction and launch in Belfast in the early 1900's to her famous maiden voyage and historical story.

Enjoy a Soda bread-making demonstration with lunch at the Northern Ireland Food Tour. Upon arrival in this traditional Irish home, start with a cup of coffee or tea and some homemade sweet treats. Then get your aprons on and start baking. After you have kneaded, rolled, mixed and baked the breads, the tasting will begin, followed by lunch!

DAY 7 - Belfast, Derry & Donegal

Make a small detour to visit the Giant’s Causeway.

Encounter Northern Ireland’s favourite myth, the giant Finn McCool, at the Giants Causeway Visitor centre on the North Antrim coast. The UNESCO World-Heritage site consist of 40,000 polygonla columns formed 60 million years ago after a volcanic eruption. There are are walks and trails around the site. The cliff top walk is a must and was named as one of the '50 things to do in Europe before you die' by Conde Nast Traveler magazine.

Continue to Derry and enjoy a Derry Walls walking tour with a local guide. Discover the only remaining completely walled city in Ireland. These famous walls which date back to the early part of the seventeenth century have been a place of several sieges. Walk along Derry Walls and enjoy incredible views of cathedrals and churches as you learn about the historical events that shaped the city. Explore attractions such as The Bogside, The People’s Gallery: The Murals, The Diamond, the Tower Museum and the Guildhall.

Return to your hotel in Donegal for the night.

DAY 8 - Slieve Leauge & Glenveagh National Park

After breakfast, drive to the village of Carrick where a local guide will pick you up and take you on a guided tour to the *Slieve League Cliffs *- some of the highest cliffs in the Europe that offer some of the most breath-taking views.

After your visit continue north to the Glenveagh National Park *and *Glenveagh Castle. A spectacular 16,500 hectares (40,000 acres) of scenic mountains, lakes, glens and woods, Glenveagh is one of Ireland's protected natural parks managed by the State. A Scottish-style castle within the estate is surrounded by one of the finest gardens in Ireland, which contrast the rugged surroundings.

Return to your hotel in Donegal.

DAY 9 - Dublin

Depart Donegal for Dublin and en-route visit Belleek Pottery.

The Belleek pottery porcelain company has its home in an imposing Victorian building in the village of Belleek on the river Erne. The guided tour covers all the production areas and the chance to meet with the craftspeople and observe their handmade pieces. You will get to experience the journey through the life of the pottery from the early earthenware days to present day fine Parian China.

Drive to Dublin and check into your hotel.

The rest of the afternoon is free at your leisure. Consider visiting the Jamieson distillery for a taste of Irish Whisky, or the EPIC Ireland at the Irish Emigration Museum.

DAY 10 - Dublin

Start the day with a panoramic city tour of Dublin.

Discover the north and south side of the River Liffey. This area offers great striking monuments such as the GPO (General Post Office) on O'Connell Street, or the Custom House along the quays, as well as Phoenix Park, the largest public park in Europe. The south side appears more sophisticated with its vast Georgian squares, such as Merrion Square, where Oscar Wilde’s House can still be found, with its colourful doors and its quality shops.

Visit *Trinity College *where the famous book of Kells is permanently exhibited in its library. The university is located in the medieval district where Dublin Castle and the two Anglican Cathedrals can be found. Trinity College has had many famous students such as Jonathan Swift and Samuel Beckett, who later became a lecturer in French at the university. The inter-denominational Church is very much worth a visit.

Visit the Guinness Storehouse and the Guinness Brewery - Europe's largest stout-producing brewery. Opened in 1904, the Storehouse was an operational plant for fermenting and storing Guinness. Today it houses a very fine exhibition dedicated to the Guinness story. On your guided tour you will discover what goes into the making a pint of Guinness - the ingredients, the brewing process, the time, the craft and the passion. Once the tour has finished, you’ll enjoy your own pint of Guinness in the Gravity Bar, high above the historic rooftops; and with amazing views of Dublin city and the skyline.

Tonight, you can join your group in an optional farewell dinner.

DAY 11 - Dublin

Your tour ends today with a transfer to the airport for your onward journey home.

Tours begin in Edinburgh and end in Dublin. Getting to Edinburgh is easy with flights departing regularly from most major Australian cities. Flights will typically have a minimum of one stop and are approximately 25-32 hours flying with Etihad, Virgin Australia, Qatar Airways, British Airways and various other airlines.

Return airport transfers are included with your booking and are only available on the first and last day of the tour.
