Preparing for your trek: This trek is suitable for people aged between 15 and 64. This is a Grade 3 Rated Trek. Please note that a good standard of fitness is required to complete the trek. Expect to trek for around five to seven hours (10 to 14 km) per day. This is a physically demanding trek and it is recommended that you prepare by training, such as climbing hills or stairs, jogging, walking with a backpack or attending the gym to improve your stamina. If you are quite fit and do sufficient training prior to arriving in Nepal, the trek will be a more enjoyable experience. The highest altitude reached will be 5,545 metres at Kala Patthar. If you have any health issues, please consult your doctor before purchasing.
Trek Capacity: The minimum trek capacity is two people and the maximum capacity is 14-16 people per trek (additional trek dates can be arranged if required).
Package does not include the following: International flights, insurance, personal equipment and clothing; lunch and dinner in Kathmandu and on trekking days (meals cost about US$7 to approx. A$10 per item depending on where you eat); city sightseeing entry fees (approx. A$29); entrance fee for Lukla: NRS2000pp; counselling for those who need, and any other activities or items not mentioned in the itinerary.

One x complimentary spa treatment at Gokarna Forest Resort and Spa is only valid for treatments with a maximum duration of 30 minutes.
One porter will be allocated to two people during your trek.
Airport transfers are provided at any time as per the flight schedule.
Important: Please allow for travelling time from Australia. International flights are not included in your package and must be purchased separately. It is your responsibility to make your own travel arrangements and ensure that you arrive in Kathmandu on your chosen tour start date.

Twin-share package: The package is valid for ONE PERSON aged 18 years or older (based on twin share). Single traveller surcharge: If travelling alone, you must pay a single traveller surcharge of US$349, payable directly to the tour operator.

It is recommended that you allow two to three days at the end of your trip to fly internationally, as flights can sometimes be delayed or cancelled from Lukla Airport due to sudden weather transitions or unforeseen circumstances. If flights are cancelled or delayed for a few days, a helicopter charter flight (approx. US$300 approx. SG$413 to US$400 approx. SG$550) may be required, so please ensure your travel insurance covers this instance. Suggested activities for extra days could be Chitwan National Park, white water rafting, going on a Pokhara valley tour, yoga and massages (not included).
If your flight is cancelled or delayed for longer than two days, you may be transferred to the Annapurna Base Camp with a complimentary Everest scenic flight.

DAY 1 – Arrival
Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport and transfer to Hotel Holy Himalaya. After your orientation in the evening at around 5pm, enjoy a welcome dinner featuring unique Nepalese cuisine, and a cultural program of song and dance from different ethnic groups from the Nepalese community.

DAY 2 – Kathmandu – Lukla – Phakding (2600 metres)
Take an early morning flight to Lukla, the gateway to Khumbu region, to start the three-four hour trek uphill to Phakding. This small village, which lies in the Dudh Kosi river valley, has been a UNESCO-heritage-listed site since 1979.

DAY 3 – Trek to Namche Bazaar (3535 metres)
After an early breakfast, start your journey through a pine forest and walk alongside the Dudh Koshi river. Ascend a steep trail to reach Namche Bazaar in five to six hours; this is probably the biggest town in the Everest region. Regarded as the gateway to Everest and other Himalayan peaks, Namche is situated on the slope of an arch-shaped mountain, which offers a spellbinding view of the surrounding peaks.

DAY 4 – Acclimatization day, Namche Bazaar
To avoid altitude sickness, you’ll need to acclimatize in Namche Bazaar, which is heralded as the most beautiful and primary town of the Everest region. It is also a prosperous market town – you’ll be able to pick up Tibetan artefacts and climbing equipment – so ATMS, government offices, shops and restaurants are plentiful here. Homemade yak cheese and butter are a culinary feature.

DAY 5 – Trek to Tengboche (3850 metres)
Ascend towards Tengboche village in five to six hours. The village houses the enchanting Tengboche monastery, the biggest of the Everest region. This leading Buddhist centre in the Khumbu has a residing Rinpoche who blesses pilgrims and travellers to the area.

DAY 6 – Trek to Dingboche (4350 metres)
The trail descends and passes through lush forests of birch, confer and rhododendron trees. Marvel at the spectacular views of Mount Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam, where the unique physical surrounds and vegetation are known as a world biosphere reserve. Continue your walk to the Imja Valley and Lobuche River before ascending to Dingboche (five to six) hours.

DAY 7 – Acclimatization in Dingboche
Spending a day in Dingboche will help you to acclimate to the high altitude. Admire the picturesque Imja Khola Valley and the beautiful Dingboche village, a popular stop for climbers and trekkers. Take note of the kilometres of stone walls, built using stones of different sizes that cover the entire valley of Imja.

DAY 8 –Trek to Lobuche (4940 metres)
Ascend to the steep terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. As the trail drops to the Khumbu Glacier moraine, you’ll find yourself facing several great peaks including Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori and Mahalangur Himal (five to six hours).

DAY 9 – Trek to Gorakshep (5160 metres), hike to Everest Base Camp, and back
The two-to-three hour trek to Everest Base Camp is not very difficult; ascend and descend mostly on a glacier path. Go through Sagarmatha National Park to admire the alpine wildlife and vegetations including musk deer, Derow, Ghoral and Himalayan Thar as well as red-billed chough, impheyan pheasant, blood pheasant and yellow billed chough. Marvel at the sweeping mountainous panorama from the stunningly beautiful Everest Base Camp. Some of the most amazing views include those of Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori mountains. Get an insight into the culture and civilization of the Sherpas before walking back to Gorakshep to spend the night (six to seven hours).

DAY 10 – Hike to Kalapathar (5545 metres), trek back to Pheriche
The day’s first light will illuminate your spectacular view of Nuptse Cholatse and Lhotse. This may be, of the whole journey, one of the best opportunities for the most astounding photographs of Everest and the surrounding peaks. Return to to Gorekshep for breakfast and trek down to Pheriche (five to six hours).

DAY 11 – Trek down to Namche
The walk from Pheriche back to Tengboche is mainly downhill, although it does, counter-intuitively, require an hour scaling a hill. Arrive in Namche by late afternoon and have an early night before your last day on the mountain (six to seven hours).

DAY 12 – Trek to Phakding
Seize the opportunity to photograph the beauty of the open plains, pine forests and in the distance snow-covered peaks from Phakding. Walk through the Sherpa villages, where homes and villagers display their devotion to the Buddhist faith through meditation over prayer stones and prayer flags (four to five hours).

DAY 13 – Trek down to Lukla
After breakfast, trek towards the Hillary Suspension Bridge – named after the famous explorer and mountaineer who was the first to conquer Everest – and pass through several local villages. Arrive in Lukla to spend an evening in a proper hotel and enjoy a party with your trekking crew (three to four hours).

DAY 14 – Fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla
Catch the early morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla. On arrival, you’ll be met by the airport representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in and a special 30-minute body massage before enjoying a sumptuous dinner.

DAY 15 – Kathmandu sightseeing tour
After breakfast, enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Kathmandu valley, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Pashupatinath Temple or Kapan Monastery, Boudhanath, Swaymbhu and Patan Durbar square).

DAY 16 – Tour ends
Transfer to the airport after an early breakfast to catch your flight home.
