Colonial architecture. Cigars. Colourful vintage cars. Sugar plantations. Salsa dancing. Tobacco farms. Idyllic powder-white beaches. Whatever springs to mind when you think of Cuba, this beautiful Caribbean country remains something of an enigma to those who have yet to discover its magic first-hand. Embrace the sovereign state that time forgot on this unforgettable nine-day Cuban escape.

The Accommodation – Characteristically Cuban combined with modern luxury

Spend four nights at the five-star Hotel Gran Manzana Kempinski – Havana’s newest and best hotel. Once the first European-style department store, the hotel’s exterior keeps its traditional Cuban character while its interior oozes luxury in every way. From its lavish furnishings and ornate bathrooms to its floor-to-ceiling French-style doors and the spectacular rooftop pool that overlooks the colourful city, this brand-new hotel has taken Cuban luxury to new heights.

Explore Cuba’s azure south coast with two nights at Cienfuegos’ Hotel La Union. Located in the heart of the city’s historic centre, La Union epitomises classic Cuban architecture and style. Having housed many of the world’s elite in its time, the boutique hotel holds true character within its walls.

Spend two magical nights in the refurbished Iberostar Grand Hotel Trinidad – a pastel green-coloured 16th-century World Heritage building. The serene property takes old-world Cuba and adorns it with modern accents, providing a luxe and relaxing sanctuary in the gorgeous colonial cobbled streets of vibrant Trinidad.

The Experiences – From riding in 1950’s vintage cars to visiting hundred-year-old tobacco farms and everything in between

Though not a luxury destination in the traditional sense, the old-world culture, colourful streets and charming mystery of Cuba are an ode to the soul of a country that has kept itself distant from the emerging world. These are, in fact, some of its most alluring characteristics; ones that may not be preserved for much longer.

Stroll the 16th-century streets of Old Havana—labelled a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and sip a mojito from the bar where they were introduced to the world. Immerse yourself in the true culture as you stroll the buzzing streets, admire the colonial-style architecture and meet the locals that ooze romance and hospitality. See Revolution Square and be amazed as you pass through Paseo & President Avenues - home to many of Cuba’s striking mansions that once housed many of the rich and famous.

Be transported to 1950’s Havana, when communist leader, Fidel Castro, banned imports of foreign cars and car parts. Cruise the city in iconic vibrant American vintage cars—we’re talking pastel-pink Chevys and baby blue Fords—that have been maintained since the 50’s.

End a spectacular day at the famed Hotel Nacional de Cuba – a popular hangout for the past’s rich and famous including The Rat Pack. If you wanted to catch a glimpse of Frank Sinatra or Sammy Davis Jr in the 50’s and 60’s, you’d be sure to head to Hotel Nacional de Cuba.

Discover the region where the country’s best tobacco crops have been supplying cigar factories for centuries. Visit a tobacco farm, learn the traditional methods of how Havana cigars are made by locals and meet with a farmer whose family has been farming these crops for generations.

Witness the glistening blue waters of the Bay of Pigs and hop in yourself, swimming and snorkelling through the unique cenotes (natural underground reservoirs) – home to pure waters and sea life.

Explore another magical part of Cuba – the stunning south coast – with two days in the striking Cienfuegos, known as ‘Cuba’s Paris’ or the ‘Pearl of the South’. Become captivated by this town from 1819 as you admire sweeping views of the azure bay, witness the Neo-Classical architecture and study the historic landmarks that give Cuba its character.

Immerse yourself in the vibrancy of Trinidad, a perfectly-preserved Spanish city where it’s as if the clocks stopped in 1850. Best explored by foot, you can lose yourself in the rainbow-coloured side streets, interact with the locals and be mesmerised by the colonial-style mansions. Wander the 19th-century cobblestone street alongside donkeys, local vendors sitting outside their bodegas and street bands performing.

Embrace one of the fundamental parts of Cuba and of the Spanish culture with a classic salsa class at Casa de la Trova – one of the favourite local bars in Trinidad – where local dancers will teach you to move to the rhythm and let it all go.
