Hike through Torres del Paine National Park, a breathtaking region full of lakes, glaciers and dramatic mountain scenery. Cross hanging bridges near Guarderia Grey, see the vibrant turquoise waters of Lake Pehoe and marvel at the towering peaksof Paine Horn __and __LosCuernos.

Take a city tour of Santiago, Chile’s colourful capital. Witness the varying scenes and flavours of this beautiful place on visits to its colonial neighbourhoods, university villages, historical centre and National Museum before taking in panoramic views of the city from atop San Cristobal Hill.

Uncover the charms of Buenos Aires, often referred to as the ‘Paris of South America’. Wander through old quarters, chic neighbourhoods and famous burial sites during your visit to the Argentinian capital, then dance the afternoon away during a tango lesson before enjoying a live tango performance over dinner.

DAY 1 – Santiago Welcome to Santiago – the capital of Chile. With plenty of grand colonial buildings and stunning views of the snow-capped Andes, Santiago is a wonderful place to eat, play or simply stroll through. After arriving at the airport, make your way to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. This evening, meet your tour manager and fellow travellers for a briefing on the tour, followed by a welcome drink and dinner. Accommodation: Hotel Plaza San Francisco Meals: Dinner

DAY 2 – Santiago This morning’s city tour takes you through the colonial neighbourhoods of Santiago, which contrasts with the city’s modern financial centre, known as ‘Sanhattan’ by locals. Pass by the beautiful residences of the Barrio Universitario university area before coming to the city’s historical centre. Admire the fountains and sculptures of Playa de Armas as you watch the locals wander by, then travel towards the green Parque Forestal, home to the Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts. Take some time to admire its Beaux-arts style architecture, then travel through the bohemian neighbourhood of Bellavista before climbing San Cristobal Hill for panoramic views of the city and the towering Andes. Enjoy free time in the afternoon, or join an optional excursion to the Undurraga Winery in the Maipo Valley for a crisp glass of the local drop. DAY 3 – Punta Arenas Sitting near the southernmost tip of the South American continent, Puntas Arenas is often used as a base for travellers to Antarctica or the gorgeous national parks and islands sitting nearby. Take your included flight to the city and enjoy a day of leisure once you touch down. Perhaps visit the Palacio Sara Braun, a historic old mansion with stunning colonial architecture. As the evening arrives, regroup with your fellow travellers for dinner at a local restaurant. Accommodation: Hotel Cabo de Hornos or Hotel Dreams del Estrecho Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

DAY 4 – Puerto Natales Start the day with a visit to the Cerro de la Cruz viewpoint and admire magnificent vistas of the Strait of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego. Take a walk to the Plaza Muñoz Gamero and admire its beautiful conifers, opulent mansions and the monument dedicated to the 400th anniversary of Ferdinand Magellan’s voyage. Learn more about the legendary explorer at the Magallanes Regional Museum before heading to the northern part of the city to visit the Monument to the Shepherd, the Croat Monument and the Antoine de Saint-Exupery Square. Continue to the legendary Strait of Magellan – one of the busiest navigation routes of the world. This strait was historically used by famous explorers such as Drake, Magellan, Fitzroy and Darwin amongst countless others. Head north through the Patagonian steppe, watching as sleepy sheep farms and native flora and fauna pass you during the drive. Visit the Nao Victoria Museum, named after the only ship in Magellan’s fleet to circumnavigate the globe. Admire the replicas of ships used by great explorers and learn of the history behind Chile’s colonisation, then depart for Puerto Natales for dinner and your overnight stay. DAY 5 – Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers Prepare for an exciting day of glacier hunting, starting in the morning once you board your boat. Take a scenic sailing trip through the Ultima Esperanza Fjord, admiring the diversity of the beech trees, a local sea lion colony, chattering cormorants and a building once owned by one of Patagonia’s largest meat companies. Catch a glimpse of the thousand-year-old Balmaceda Glacier before disembarking in Puerto Toro where you’ll wander through a forest en route to the Serrano Glacier. After the hike ends, enjoy lunch before travelling by Zodiac to begin your trip up the Serrano River. During the excursion, take in sweeping views of the Tyndall Glacier, one of the largest of its kind in Southern Patagonia. DAY 6 – Torres del Paine Spend the day discovering the beauty of Torres del Paine National Park, declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. With granite pillars dominating the landscape, the park is one of the most unspoiled and impressive sights in the Southern Hemisphere. Take in the unmatched beauty of the jagged peaks, azure lakes, emerald forests, thundering waterfalls and roaring rivers during a hike here, starting from the hanging bridges near Guarderia Grey before arriving at the shimmering waters of Lago Grey beach. View the electric blue icebergs off of Glacier Grey, a gigantic wall of ice almost five kilometres long. Enjoy lunch by the banks of Lake Pehoe before hiking towards Lake Nordenskjol, where the flow of the Salto Grande waterfall comes to an end. Take in views of the granite peaks of Paine Horn and Los Cuernos before returning to your hotel in the late afternoon and spending an evening at your own leisure. DAY 7 – Torres del Paine Spend another day exploring more of Torres del Paine’s breathtaking scenery. Keep an eye out for guanacos llamas wandering around the Patagonian plains amongst rheas, sheep, foxes, eagles, condors and other wildlife. Arrive at Lake Sarmiento, the largest lake of the park which, unlike the other lakes, isn’t glacier fed. Continue north-east before arriving at the Amarga Lagoon for views of its shimmering green water and resident flamingos. Afterwards, arrive in El Calafate, named after a legendary local berry that, once eaten, guarantees you’ll one day return to Patagonia. Get acquainted with the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park and the great Perito Moreno Glacier before settling into your hotel for the evening. DAY 8 – Los Glaciares National Park Journey to the unforgettable Perito Moreno Glacier at the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Los Glaciares National Park. This park, created in 1937, is the largest ice cap outside of Antarctica and Greenland with an ice field that feeds the world's third-largest reserve of fresh water. Once you arrive at Perito Moreno, take in the dynamic shift of its massive walls as ice cracks and falls onto the ice sheets below. The easy access to this site has crowned Perito Moreno as one of the most visited glaciers in the entire world. After a big day of glacier spotting, return to El Calafate for an evening at leisure. DAY 9 – Los Glaciares National Park Take in another side of Los Glaciares as you travel via boat. Sail across the north arm of Lago Argentino to reach the Upsala Channel, spotting the huge Barrier Iceberg and Upsala Glacier along the way. Weave between spectacular icebergs of immense sizes before enjoying a box lunch on board, then arrive at the Spegazzini Glacier, the highest of its kind in the national park. DAY 10 – Buenos Aires Take a flight towards Buenos Aires, the cosmopolitan capital of Argentina. Known as the ‘Paris of South America’, this 19th-century city boasts gorgeous architecture, tree-shaded boulevards, striking monuments and sprawling parks – all waiting to be explored. The rest of the day is yours to discover the distinct European flavour of the city. Speaking of flavour – try to find dinner at one of the city’s amazing steak restaurants during an evening of free time. Accommodation: Panamericano Buenos Aires Meals: Breakfast

DAY 11 – Buenos Aires Discover Buenos Aires’ highlights on a guided tour, starting with the Plaza de Mayo, Metropolitan Cathedral and Casa Rosada (government palace). Visit the colourful neighbourhood of La Boca, the old quarters of San Telmo and the chic suburb of Caminito where colonial style homes, artists lofts and trendy cafes create a distinct bohemian feel. At the Recoleta Cemetery, visit the resting places of many of the wealthiest and most important Argentinian historical figures. The grounds cover over four city blocks with more than 6,400 handcrafted mausoleums, including the legendary tomb of Eva "Evita" Peron, always decorated with flowers and letters from adoring fans. Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring on your own before taking an afternoon tango lesson with professional dancers.
