Eat: The Freshest Seafood

Surrounded by miles and miles of sparkling lagoon, it comes as no surprise that Tahiti serves up some of the finest seafood in the world. Here’s just some of the best seafood restaurant in Tahiti where you can get your fresh fix.

The Lotus Restaurant (pictured above): Jutting out above the ocean at the InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa, this unique eatery offers a swim-up bar during the day and stunning overwater gourmet experiences into the evening. The seafood selection is almost overwhelming with dishes such as prawn and citrus tartare with basmati rice wafer and yuzu dressing, and the pan-fried scallops with green pesto risotto, shellfish and safran sauce.

Bloody Mary’sDine on delicious seafood at the world-famous Bloody Mary’s restaurant and bar which has been visited by celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Martin Sheen, Billy Idol, Steven Tyler, Ringo Starr, Harrison Ford, Jane Fonda and Olivia Newton-John. Guests can enjoy fresh seafood and signature cocktails alongside spectacular views of the stunning surrounding landscape.

La Plage de MauiUnassuming and a little bit shabby, La Plage de Maui looks like just a simple shack on the beach. But, this shack on the beach serves what is considered to be some of the finest seafood in the whole of Tahiti. Take a seat on a plastic chair on the sand and enjoy dishes such as fish cooked ina banana leaf with shrimp.
