Holidaying has become more than just simply travelling to a destination: it now encompasses a world of experiences, unique dining and more, which transform a simple holiday into the journey of a lifetime.

Perhaps there are few that have embraced this evolution like The Postcard Hotels, who have managed to do so without giving up on luxury, outstanding facilities and unparalleled service.

Fresh off the shelf, this intimate collection of hotels is the creation of some of the best minds in the hospitality industry, who have poured years of learning into creating the perfect holiday experience. Snipping meaningless rules and customs, this newly created brand focuses on giving their guests a memorable time. Of course, you still enjoy all the frills of staying in a conventional luxury retreat but without the cliches of set breakfast hours, traditional buffets, uninspiring welcome drinks, and rigid check-in or check-out hours.

Kapil Chopra, the man behind this incredible brand, combines great talent, an understanding for consumer’s needs and the courage to think outside the box and embrace changes.

“You’re on holiday. You want to saunter out of bed at 1 pm, I’ll give you breakfast even at 2 pm,” he says. Quintessential breakfast items like bread and croissants give way to traditional, homemade Goan Poee. “I have nothing against croissants,” Kapil Chopra insists. “But India has more than 28 key bread varieties, defined and popular. In Goa, we do the Poee.” And finally, on the no check-in and check-out timings, he says: “Usually, hotels demand that guests check out before noon, and allow them to check in only after 2 pm. This means you’ve wasted half the day”, he says.

Let’s talk about the first destination chosen to launch the first hotels: Goa. Over the years, we’ve assumed that Goa is all about beaches, parties and flea markets. It still is, but The Postcard Hotels are passionate about a different side of this lovely destination, one that focuses on the rich cultural heritage and incredible diversity. They bring to surface the unexplored villages and cultural centres that dot the inland as well as the coast.

The three properties are spread across quaint, charming neighbourhoods of the city: The Postcard Moira, nestled in one of the four heritage villages of Goa; The Postcard Velha, surrounded by 300 acres of virgin coconut plantations in old Goa; and further south, in keeping with its proposition of taking travelers back in time, The Postcard Cuelim, that houses a 350-year old chapel.

While each of these bring out a different side of Goa, what’s common is how all the experiences within the hotels are true to the brand promise of being rooted to traditions.

Dining in particular is a delight at The Postcard Hotels, with menus showcasing a selection of local and traditional food. On the menu, you will find everything from the classic Goan Vindaloo and chorizo to the lesser known delicacies. With a Goan Chef curating their menu, each of the hotels is set to deliver the most authentic dining experience: “You are not in Goa to eat pasta. You want a real Goan fish curry, and that’s what we are here for” says Chopra.

Wellness plays a crucial role in The Postcard experience: Coimbatore based Punarnava Ayurveda, offers traditional Ayurveda massages and treatments whilst providing on site Ayurveda consultation for guests. Forest Essentials, meanwhile, offers their in-room amenities from their exclusive range of Nargis, the Kashmiri Daffodil.

Outside the hotels, abundant experiences await and The Postcard brand has curated rich itineraries that help showcase the wonders of Goa. Set out on a heritage walk, appreciate Portuguese architecture, get access to ancestral homes and meet wonderful people. Join The Postcard Hotels on a journey of exploration – as travellers rather than just tourists.
