If, like the team here at Luxury Escapes, you’re a huge fan of the QT hotels then you’ll love this little nugget of news. New Zealand has gained its second QT property (with one already open in Wellington) with the opening of QT Queenstown today. Describing itself as ‘plush playtime luxe, the pinnacle of Queenstown cool,” we’re sure that this hotel is going to be just as cool, calm and creative as the others.
Standing on prime real estate overlooking the world-renowned New Zealand Southern Alps and majestic Lake Wakatipu, QT Queenstown is just about as cool as it gets with its designer interiors and nature’s playground outside.
Created by QT’s long-standing trio of collaborators with interior designer Nic Graham complemented by carefully curated graphics from Fabio Ongarato and in-room stylings by Anna Roberts, this quirky hotel definitely makes a statement. The hotel features tongue-in-cheek interpretations of the landscape, bespoke furniture and vintage characters.
Featuring just 69 boutique rooms, a key to one of these private designer sanctuaries is already a hot commodity. Each room is perfectly poised to soak up the scenery with floor-to-ceiling windows flaunting jaw-dropping views across the Southern Alps and Lake Wakatipu
The styling is one of nostalgic alpine and après-ski chic, and this is evident in the contrasting textures where timber flooring meets leather and copper accents.
With signature QT Gel Beds, bespoke furnishings, too-many-threads-to-count linen and a cheeky mini-bar, guests will soon decide that their room at QT Queenstown is their new favourite place.
The generous bathrooms feature designer finishings, white marble throughout, Malin+Goetz amenities and oversized bathtubs with warmth added by copper furnishings – a QT first.
The hotly anticipated launch of designer hotel, QT Queenstown, brought two vibrant additions to the city’s burgeoning hospitality scene: Bazaar Interactive Marketplace and Reds Bar.
QT Queenstown’s Food & Beverage Director, Josh Smith-Thirkel says “We’re excited to continue to build relationships and support our local farmers and producers, collaboratively furthering our reputations for freshness and quality.”
At Bazaar, chefs provide a theatrical and thoroughly interactive dining experience inspired by Central Otago’s fresh produce. The mosaic of international cuisines is prepared before your eyes creating both an ocular and gastronomic experience for guests.
With a killer cocktail list, bespoke furniture and a penchant for al fresco wining, Reds Bar offers a stylish and impressive, yet comfortable space for any social occasion. Queenstown’s finest bartenders tend to the early afternoon and late night crew at Reds.
With the largest selection of spirits and liqueurs in town, sit back and revel in the only way to experience a Queenstown sunset with perfect classics and signature tipples in hand.
