There’s nothing more comforting than home-style Italian cooking – which is exactly what you get at Ricardo’s. The Melbourne weather can be unpredictable so if things take a turn for the colder, cosy up next to the fireplace here after a long day outside. Hot Honey

This adorable brunch spot is named after the delicious cold extracted honey owner Emma’s father produces. His honey, from hives across Victoria, is used in several menu items, including the muesli and the nostalgic Honey Joys crispy cakes. Other popular dishes include the Cornbread, Tomato and Feta Turkish and Middle Eastern Eggs. It’s also the perfect place to try one of the amazing coffees Melbourne is famous for.

Open seven nights a week for dinner (5pm onwards), you can nibble on traditional mezze dishes like olives, Turkish bread with dips, calamari and falafel. The early dinner banquets (diners must be finished by 7pm) are amazing value at $30 per adult and $15 per child. Menu items include chicken shish and dukkah-dusted sweet potato fries.
