Gong Restaurant

For up-market Balinese cuisine, Gong at the Kayumanis hotel features a menu of locally inspired dishes created using fresh local produce and seasonal delicacies. Standout dishes include tender pork ribs marinated in a local spice paste and nasi campur, small portions of meat and rice accompanied by a bowl of soup.

Jack Fish

Who needs a website when you’ve got a word-of-mouth reputation that draws in the crowds? Describing itself as ‘Grilled seafood and Indonesian food local price’, Jack Fish is a small shack-style eatery on Sanur Beach where sunbakers can dine in their swimwear on cheap and cheerful seafood. The prices may be low but the food is something else. This tiny restaurant serves freshly caught seafood including mahi mahi, squid, snapper, grupper, marlin and more.

Shopping

Sanur is about as easy going as it gets and the shopping reflects this laid-back way of life with cool street markets that you can browse at your leisure. The best include Sindhu Beach Art Market where you barter for clothing, sarongs, jewellery, woodcarvings and other handicrafts, and Jalan Danau Tamblingan Shopping Street, the area’s major market where you can pick up pretty much anything you can imagine.

Bali Seawalker

Walk on the bottom of the ocean with the perfect alternative to snorkelling or scuba diving. Based in Sanur, the Bali Seawalker takes guests into Indonesia’s warm waters using their modern equipment to allow explorers to stroll along the bottom of the ocean and admire the colourful marine life.

Casablanca

For a lively evening out, Casablanca is known as a local hotspot with themed music nights ranging from salsa to classic rock, reggae, blues and soul. Dance the night away with Sunday nights being the most popular night for a drink or two with friends.
