Jumeirah Vittaveli brings a new first to the Maldives this festive season with the opening of the destination’s first ice rink. Guests can step out of the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and onto a glistening eco-friendly ice rink where they can glide across the world’s most tropical ice.
Launching shortly before Christmas, the ice rink adds a little more magic to the already enchanting festive season.
Jumeirah Vittaveli’s General Manager Amit Majumder says, “The ice rink is a perfect expression of our goal to always wow guests. We have many guests who keep coming back to us and I often hear that one of the reasons for their returns is that they love to be surprised by our updates and developments each time they come. Apart from the ice rink, we have some exciting changes in our rooms and dining outlets upcoming, which we will announce in the near future.”
This isn’t the first time Jumeirah Vittaveli has taken resort life to all new levels. This five-star property also features a 12-seater semi-submarine – the first of its kind in the Maldives. The submarine allows guests to explore the stunning house reef through large windows and keep dry at the same time.
Excursions run several times during the day and there are even night trips to see the marine after dark when minuscule polyps on the coral reefs come to life and feed on surrounding plankton, and eels, stingrays and sharks come out to play.

We’ve rounded up our favourite … Continue reading “Post-Piste: Best Boutique Ski Hotels”Read more..
