Room is spacious, clean and comfortable. Hotel provide shuttle service to Gora stn, also from Odawara stn. Walk from hotel to Gora stn can be challenging.

Great spot, with excellent rooms and service. Free shuttle from Odawara Station is prompt and easy, so a Shinkansen from Tokyo makes this a simple trip. On arrival, seated in the lounge with some complimentary non-alcoholic drinks before check-in at the bar. Great service which made the process very smooth after a day of travel. Room was a corner king - lots of space, including excellent bathroom and large shower - along with the fab outdoor spring water bath. Throw in some Hinoki cubes, thoughtfully provided at check-in, and this was a very relaxing way to end the day. Still on the room - firm but comfortable bed, huge TV and great living area. Toilet in seperate powder-room style set up near the front of the room, which I appreciate. Dinner at the restaurant was impeccable - all the wood-fired dishes we ordered tasted great, as well as the things we picked from the seperate vegetarian menu. Service was very friendly, even by Japanese standards. Considering the ease of using their on-demand Gora transfer, this is the perfect spot for a staycation where you might spend a day out doing the Hakone loop starting and returning to Gora.

This is a higher end hotel for this area and the hotel itself and facilities are clean and very nice. Cool design throughout. The location is ok, depending on what you want. It's not close to many restaurants or shops (literally a few), and you have to hike up steep stairs for 15 minutes to get to the nearest large town with the cable car and most buses. They say they have a shuttle but it's not easy to use or navigate and times are very limited. Cons Staff were a mixed bag. Most were not very friendly, not rude but not friendly either. There is literally nowhere to eat breakfast except at the hotel so they gauge you for it. We booked a room for 3, and when we arrived it was two beds and a sofa that could be folded out. We were expecting this as it was in the photos. However, when I asked for sheets for the sofa bed we were told there would be a significant upcharge to use the sofa bed! This was not on any of the website or booking info (at least not in English) and it's crazy we couldn't use it as it was in the room and literally costs them nothing to allow us to use. For a nice hotel I thought this was petty and cheap. Pros Onsen bath area is great, and they had a really nice happy hour. There is an awesome, new sushi place across the street. Not much else to eat in the immediate hotel vicinity.
