Fiji is the place to be for Aussies, with visitor numbers for 2023 the highest in history.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a resounding triumph for Fijian tourism, the South Pacific country set an unprecedented record in 2023, hosting the highest number of Australian visitors in its history. The island paradise surpassed pre-COVID tourism numbers and welcomed a surge of nearly one million visitors in 2023 \u2013 with 50% of them Aussies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fiji’s heightened popularity has sparked investment in a flurry of new developments in the travel sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert Thompson, Executive Director of Regions at Tourism Fiji, confirmed investment in the luxury resort precinct of Vatu Talei \u2013 The Jewel, Radisson Blu Mirage Resort, Waya Island Resort, and Crowne Plaza Nadi Bay, which is set to launch in March. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The travel boom extends to Fijian waters, with Captain Cook Cruises introducing the M.S. Caledonian Sky. Routes include stops to remote islands in the Yasawas and Mamanucas, and the Lau islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fiji Airways is also expanding its fleet in tune with rising demand, now offering new A350s and opening\/reopening routes to Canberra, Japan, Hong Kong and New Caledonia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
