What you'll see
Madrid

Arrive in Spain’s vibrant capital, where elegant, expansive boulevards frame manicured parks and vibrant restaurants and bars. Your journey begins with a meet-and-greet at Madrid Airport (MAD) before you’re transferred to your stylish hotel. For the rest of the afternoon you will be free to explore the delights of Madrid, before meeting with your tour director and fellow travellers this evening.

Why not do as the Spanish do and head out to a bar for ‘pintxos’, a small tapas selection served with drinks?

Overall, we really enjoyed the holiday; Spain, Portugal & Morocco were all fantastic places to visit and the local guides were excellent (especially Morocco). On the negative side, the tour director with us on the bus war terrible. She got us lost several times, communication was poor, had no knowledge of the places she was taking us too and her English was average. Even the Bus driver got lost a couple of times (he blamed his GPS unit). The optional activities were average such the river cruises in Porto and Seville. The organised dinners were always cheap meals and not the best quality. The company organising the tour was really poor; hotels weren’t booked until the last minute and they were different from what was advertised. We were left waiting at the airport for our transfer, called the company and it took them 30 minutes just to work out who we were. Most others in the group reported the same. Communication with them in preparation for the tour was also quite poor with a real lack of information about hotels, transfers, itinerary etc. On the positive side, there were plenty of activities and when we had local guides, they were always excellent. Our time in Morocco was very informative and really well organised by the local team (another tour company) but really busy, long days. The Fado show was great, food and restaurant were terrible and the bust dropped us off 500m away and were were left to walk which was difficult for some older people. The day of the Flamenco show, there was a storm and we were left to walk in the rain. The Hotel nor the bus carried any umbrellas. The show was great, but again food was average.

The hotel accommodation was false advertising. We stayed in different locations and accommodation was not similar or equal to what is advertised.

Accommodation extremely disappointing. Most of the hotels were changed from original booking and the new ones were definitely not of the same standard and location. Very disappointing in the location of the ones in Portugal in particular and the standard. The ones in Morocco were also very poor with flaking bedheads in everyone's rooms and many other problems. Whilst we were a group of 21 which was the size we were expecting everytime we arrived at a hotel or for a sightseeing event there were other groups from the same company and we would get the seating and views that were poor. Overall a very disappointing tour and we will not be booking any tours through Luxury escapes in the future. This is not what I expected when I booked a Luxury escape 🤣🤣

Oversold and Underdelivered. Un-informed and wasted time. Accommodation was poor standard, nothing like the hotels originally advertised. 80% of the tour was up to 40 people travelling on 2 x buses. 10-20% of tour was 60-80 people travelling on 3-4 buses.
