Destinations: Arusha, Ngorongoro Crater, Nairobi, Serengeti National Park, Migori, Masai Mara Nation...
Destinations: Entebbe, Kihihi, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Embark on the ultimate East African safari: a private eight-day journey through Kenya and Tanzania, pairing two of the continent’s most legendary wildlife destinations in one seamless adventure. Throughout, A&K Sanctuary lodges – Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp, Sanctuary Kichakani and Sanctuary Olonana – deliver all-inclusive luxury with a genuine commitment to conservation, with each stay supporting local communities and the ecosystems that make these landscapes possible. Chef-prepared meals, free-flow premium drinks and twice-daily private game drives come as standard.
Begin in Tanzania with a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater before crossing the Serengeti, where a mobile camp repositions seasonally to place you at the heart of the Great Migration. Light aircraft flights connect each magnificent property, replacing long road transfers with spectacular low-altitude views over the plains as you move between parks. Then cross into Kenya for two unforgettable days in the Maasai Mara, where the Migration continues its ancient circuit and the Big Five roam the open grassland year-round. For the cherry on top, soak in the serenity of hot-air balloon safaris in both the Serengeti and Maasai Mara, admiring incredible scenery and wildlife from above at sunrise.

After breakfast, your private transfer delivers you to Arusha Airport for your included flight to Lake Manyara Airstrip. A short transfer brings you to Ngorongoro Crater Camp, an A&K Sanctuary, set near the world’s largest intact, inactive volcanic caldera.
Formed when a vast volcano collapsed inward around two million years ago, Ngorongoro Crater is now a natural sanctuary for one of Africa’s highest concentrations of wildlife. With just 10 tented suites, this intimate luxury camp places you close to one of Tanzania’s most extraordinary landscapes.
Your first private game drive takes you either along the rim or down onto the crater floor, the latter a different world entirely. Keep an eye out for zebras, lions, rhinos, cheetahs, elephants, hippos and even the elusive leopard.
Return to camp for a delicious dinner and included sundowners, with every detail taken care of.
Travel time: Flight – approx. 30 minutes
Wake to one of Africa’s most spectacular landscapes. Your private guide takes you back down in a closed 4x4, arriving in the early morning as predators begin to stir and returning in the late afternoon, when long shadows stretch across the crater floor and stillness settles before dark. A full day here allows you to follow the rhythm of the wildlife without the pressure of moving on.
With the camp’s close ties to the surrounding Maasai community, you may also have the chance to visit a local village – an unhurried introduction to Maasai customs and daily life from those who know this land best.
After breakfast, a transfer will take you to the airstrip for your flight to the Serengeti National Park. As you fly, take in a bird’s-eye view of the endless plains teeming with life. From your landing strip, journey through this UNESCO World Heritage-listed site to Kichakani Camp, an A&K Sanctuary, a tented camp designed to follow the movements of The Great Migration. Inside, your tent boasts handcrafted furniture, expansive wilderness views and all the modern luxuries you could need for a comfortable stay.
Spend the afternoon on a game drive and watch the drama of the Serengeti unfold. Witness predators stalking their prey, zebras grazing in the golden light and perhaps a thrilling chase in action.
Back at camp, unwind with a drink by the fire, sharing stories of the day’s encounters before a chef-prepared dinner.
Wake before dawn for a hot-air balloon safari over the Serengeti, drifting low across the plains as first light climbs and watching great herds of wildebeest and zebra move below, while predators trace their routes through the grass. It is the quietest, widest view the Serengeti offers.
Back on the ground, the afternoon belongs to another game drive, tracking the herds and the lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas.
As the sun drops, a sundowner brings the day to a close.
Set out for an early morning game drive or relax at camp before being transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Tarime. Here, you’ll be met and transferred to Migori where you’ll connect to your scenic flight to Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Upon arrival, a guide will greet you for your transfer to Olonana Lodge, an A&K Sanctuary, a luxury lodge set on the Mara River, complete with a drive offering possible sightings of wild elephants, buffalo, giraffes and a host of plains game.
Settle into your glass-fronted suites that merge contemporary design with the untamed beauty of the bush, complete with a private deck and lounge that opens up to uninterrupted views of the river and its resident hippos.
Enjoy a leisurely afternoon settling into your surroundings, taking the opportunity to lounge by the pool or enjoy the serene riverfront views before a dinner of farm-to-table ingredients from the lodge garden.
Please Note:
Rise before dawn for a hot-air balloon safari over the Maasai Mara, drifting above the open grassland as the light climbs. The Mara is a prime destination for spotting the big cats – lions, leopards, hyenas and cheetahs – as well as the iconic Big Five, an array of plains game and more than 300 bird species.
By the Mara River, witness hippos submerged in the water while crocodiles bask on the riverbanks. You may like to go on a guided walk with a naturalist to learn about the local flora and fauna, how to identify subtle animal tracks and gain insight into the region’s ecology.
After your thrilling game activities, unwind by the pool or treat yourself to a rejuvenating treatment at the spa, offering everything from facials to full-body massages (at own cost). Each day culminates with a delicious chef-prepared dinner and a refreshing sundowner.
Enjoy one final game drive early this morning before transferring to Kichwa Tembo Airstrip for your included flight to Wilson Airport, Nairobi.
Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) for your onward journey.
From the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, a vast natural enclosure sheltering one of the continent’s densest wildlife populations, to the open plains of the Serengeti and the grasslands of the Maasai Mara, twice-daily private game drives place you inside three of East Africa’s most distinct ecosystems. Lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos and Cape buffaloes move through each landscape on their own terms, while your expert guide tracks them all.
Three exceptional lodges across Tanzania and Kenya form the backbone of this journey, each all-inclusive and positioned to make the most of its surroundings. From a crater-rim camp with views into the caldera below, to a mobile Serengeti tented camp that follows the Migration, to suites near the hippos on the Mara River, comfort and wilderness arrive in equal measure throughout.
