The Postcard Moira, North Goa: Amid the verdant greens of the quaint village of Moira in Bardez Goa you will find The Postcard Moira. Get lost in the authentic, holistic and sensory offerings of Moira, one of the four heritage villages of Goa. A 214-year-old former ancestral home, the hotel has been extensively renovated with modern-yet-nostalgic touches. The Postcard Velha, Old Goa: Far from the busy streets of Calangute and Candolim lies the secluded world of Old Goa; or, as the Portuguese say, Velha Goa. It is also where you’ll find The Postcard Velha, a modernist colonial hideout tucked away atop the hillock of Nossa Senhora de Monte. The hotel sits on the sprawling Champakali estate and overlooks 300 acres of virgin coconut plantations and the magnificent Mandovi river. North Goa is best known for its bustling restaurants, bars and markets and busy beaches. After days exploring the charms of the north, return to your hotel in the village of Moira, one of Goa’s four heritage villages. Meander the lanes of Moira and see the lush banana plantation, the old fishmonger and the brightly coloured crosses.
A World Heritage Site, Old Goa, or Velha Goa, sits beside the magnificent Mandovi river. The former capital of Portuguese India, it is known for colonial-era monuments, like the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Basilica of Bom Jesus, the domed Church of St. Cajetan (inspired by St. Peter’s in Rome), and the vast Sé Catedral, built in the 16th to 17th centuries. Other than its rich history, Velha offers some of the best vantage points for stunning panoramic views.
