Local Tips — Go on a safari and discover local attractions

Thank to its location, the Bagh is the perfect spot from which to explore the many wonderful birds of Keoladeo National Park. Every winter, this protected reserve sees a huge number of migratory birds all the way from Siberia, Afghanistan, China and Turkmenistan. Spot painted storks, bar-headed goose, pelicans, eagles, hawks, wagtails, flycatchers and more here.

Take advantage of the resort’s multiple experiences such as puppet shows, nature trails, wildlife shows, jeep safaris, tribal dances and more (extra charges apply). For car aficionados, the resort has a fabulous line-up of vintage cars including a 1946 Chrysler Plymouth, a 1918 Model T Ford, a 1938 ten Series III Morris and a Jeep from the Second World War.

Drive down to the stunning 18th-century Lohagarh Fort, less than 5km from the resort. It gained prominence when it withstood repeated attacks from the British and remained uncaptured. Discover the many wonderful monuments and museum inside its walls.

The historical town of Fatehpur Sikri is just 30 minutes from the resort and makes for a wonderful day trip. It served as the capital of the Mughal empire and is home to breathtaking monuments such as Buland Darwaza, Diwan-i-Khas, Jodhabai Palace and more.

Start your mornings with set-menu breakfast served at the charming Gulmohar Restaurant between 7am and 10am. One morning of your stay, you’ll have the chance to enjoy a farm visit. This one-hour experience will take you on a tour through the organic farm of the resort (guests are requested to book this in advance). For avid birdwatchers, there’s a guided nature walk for bird-spotting with the resident naturalist. This one-hour experience takes place either between 9.30am and 11.30am or 4.30pm and 5.30pm, and will introduce you to the many colourful birds of the resort.
