My wife and I stayed at the Kimpton De Witt for three nights at the end of February/start of March. We both have to say what a pleasure it was. We received a genuine warm greeting from the front desk team, particularly the bubbly Betty. Our King Essential room on the 3rd floor, gave us a view over the entrance on Nieuwezijds. At 20m2, it was comfortable and spacious enough, tastefully decorated, and the en-suite with its power, rain-shower, very good. The hotel is 5 minutes’ walk from Centraal Station, 10 minutes’ walk from Dam Square and thirty minutes’ walk from Museum Square. If you prefer to use public transport you are extremely well placed with buses and trams outside the door and trains 5 minutes away. While the buffet breakfast was expensive, there wasn’t anything you could have wanted that wasn’t provided. The staff were attentive and friendly, ably led by Hugh (?) and the whole dining experience was a pleasure that set us up for full day ahead. We missed the complimentary wine hour the hotel provides for residents between four and five each day as we were always still out at the time. I don’t drink alcohol but soft drinks are also available. We thoroughly enjoyed the plant we picked out from the available selection which was placed in our room. It made the room feel more homely and pleasant. Finally, I mentioned Betty earlier, but she warrants a special note. Her lovely smile greeted us not only on arrival, but each morning as we left and every evening as we returned. She took time to engage us, ask us about our day, checked if there was anything we needed, and provided helpful advice and always a laugh. She’s a credit to the Hotel and I hope her Manager reads this praise and passes it onto her. We highly recommend the Kimpton De Witt, Amsterdam and are already looking forward to coming back again.

What a lovely hotel! The staff could not do enough for you, the room was lovely, spacious and well decked out. The reception area, cafe, dinning room and bar are all fantastic and once again the staff are brilliant. Love social hour when you get a free drink and snack to chill with after a long day. This hotel is perfect for getting out about with location right next to the central station and with a tram stop just outside. Will definitely be staying here again!

Really enjoyed my stay here, and will come back! * Rooms were spacious with very good bedding * Loved the decor of the room, and there are different “creatures” outside each door. * The “Forgot it?” list is very thoughtful for travellers * Very good location as only 5 minutes to Amsterdam Centraal station. Also safe at night as hotel is facing a main road, but not noisy * Although I didn’t get to try their social wine hour, I found it to be such a great idea! * Friendly staff * Good variety of breakfast * Lots of other restaurants nearby but i would recommend giving their own restaurant Celia a try at least once!

Rooms are very small, but very cozy. Really appreciated the details like porcelain tea cups, marble detail with crystal glasses, Plant Pal service (you can request a plant in your room for the duration of your stay) and all the small very conveniently offered on request amenities (lip balm, etc). Mattress quality, however, was an issue - it was felt caved in on both sides, like it was 10+ years old. The hotel lobby is super cozy and they offer hot chocolate or tea/coffee depending on the season. Location is 10/10 for discovering the city on foot. Service fell short of expectations couple of times, but overall, they’ve more than made up for it in friendliness. Concierge service can be improved. We were recommended a dutch restaurant to try - we walked out of the recommended restaurant as soon as we walked in, because of the ambiance. Not necessarily because the place is bad, but because it was not a great place to eat on Monday night and staff were extremely unfriendly. I was very surprised with this suggestion.
