Availability:

• Available every day: Departs from 4.05am; returns from 12pm (approximately). Tour times vary between seasons and are based on the time of sunrise

• Your whale watching cruise will depart from Sea World Cruises Terminal, Seaworld Drive, Main Beach, Queensland 4217
• Please ensure you are at your pick-up location no later than the scheduled departure time. Late arrivals and no-shows voids offer

Important:

• Please reconfirm your booking at least 24 hours prior to your departure to ensure all details are correct and confirm your pick-up time
• Check-in time for tours varies based on the time of sunrise and fluctuates depending on the time of year
• Hot air balloon rides are shared, meaning you will likely share your ride with other guests. The hot air balloon baskets accommodate as little as 2–4 passengers, all the way up to 20 guests at a time. Ample space is available in the baskets to accommodate group sizes comfortably
• There are no weight restrictions for any of the tours. At the time of booking the weight of each passenger is collected to ensure proper weights and balances of the hot air balloon. This information helps allocate the appropriate amount of passengers per balloon for everyone’s comfort while ensuring passenger safety
• Unfortunately Hot Air cannot accomodate for wheelchair access as all passengers must climb into the 1.2m basket unassisted and stand for the whole flight
• Please come dressed as if you were taking a bushwalk with appropriate clothing and sturdy enclosed footwear. While the flight is gentle, landings can be bumpy and the basket may occasionally lay on its side with passengers lying horizontal for a short time
• Please allow up to five hours for this experience, including travel time
• Flight time is approximately 45–60 minutes
• Please note that you have the choice of when to take your whale watching experience, however Hot Air suggest to book it in for the same day as your hot air balloon flight.

Terms & Conditions:

• Minimum age for participating in a hot air balloon ride is three years
• Children between three & five years require proof of age (either a picture of their passport or birth certificate)
• Passengers who suspect they may be pregnant should check with their doctor before travel. Pregnant passengers are permitted to fly with the Hot Air up to 3 months (less than 13 weeks) of their pregnancy term. Pregnant persons beyond 3 months (13 weeks or more) of pregnancy are not permitted to fly
• No broken bones or recent surgery at the time of flight
• Passengers must be able to stand for the duration of the flight
• Passengers should be able to jump off the second step of a ladder
• Must be in good general health
• A signed waiver of liability is required for all guests flying and/or riding in our vehicles
• Flights are subject minimum passenger numbers, weather and flying conditions and may be altered or cancelled at the discretion of Hot Air
• Hot Air is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings, injuries, or damages sustained from participation in hot air balloon tours or tethered hot air balloon rides
• For groups of less than nine people: cancellations made by the Hot Air due to inclement weather will entitle the customer to a full refund of the Fare Price
• For groups of 10 of more people: a deposit equivalent to 10% of the Fare Price on the booking will be retained by Hot Air as a booking fee
• Hot Air ballooning is an outdoor adventure activity using rural properties that can be uneven or overgrown for take off and landing

Cancellations:

• For groups of nine people or less:
  • Cancellations made more than 72 hours before departure date: no cancellation fees apply
  • Cancellations within 72 hours of departure date, late arrivals and no-shows: 100% cancellation fee applies
• For groups of ten people of more:
  • Cancellations made more than 7 days before departure date: no cancellation fees apply
  • Cancellations within 7 days of departure date, late arrivals and no-shows: 100% cancellation fee applies
• Should the hot air ballooning be cancelled due to weather and you decide not to rebook or cannot find an alternative date for the ballooning experience, the whale-watching tour will still be available for you on the scheduled afternoon, however, the cost of the whale-watching tour will no longer be complimentary and the standard retail price of the whale-watching tour will be deducted from the original payment when processing your refund
• If the whale watching cruise is cancelled by the operator, the complimentary whale watching ticket is not refundable or transferable

Changes to Booking:

• For groups of nine people or less: 72 hours’ notice is required to change a booking you have made
• For groups of ten people or more: 7 days’ notice is required
• Changes made within these timeframes will attract a A$50 per person re-booking fee payable immediately upon rebooking direct to Hot Air
• If you reschedule hot air ballooning, attend the whale-watching tour before the rescheduled date, and subsequently decide to cancel the balloon ride within the acceptable cancellation timeframe, a refund is available. However, the regular retail price of the whale-watching tour will be deducted from this refund
