Following breakfast, meet your guide for a drive through Braulio Carrillo National Park en route to Tortuguero.
Arrive at the Cano Blanco dock and board a shared boat to cruise over the waters of Costa Rica’s second-largest wetland, the Tortuguero Canals, considered by many to be the ‘Amazon of Costa Rica’ for its abundance of natural biodiversity. Watch for wildlife as you make your way to your stay, situated among the canals, wetlands and rainforest.
After check-in, relax by the pool or settle in with a fruit smoothie and a walk through the village.
Travel time: Driving – approx. two hours / Boat – approx. 90 minutes
Take to the expansive Tortuguero Canals by boat early this morning. Weave through numerous natural and manmade waterways and keep an eye out for a wide variety of birds, monkeys, sloths, toucans and colourful orchids.
Return to a satisfying breakfast before embarking on a guided nature walk around the lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy lunch before setting sail on another cruise through the canals.
The evening is yours to enjoy freely.
Early this morning, leave the lodge by boat. Once back ashore, take a private bus to La Fortuna, located at the foot of the active, conical Arenal Volcano.
Upon arrival at your accommodation, your afternoon is at leisure, with time to soak in the hotel’s thermal baths or set out on your own adventure around La Fortuna.
Travel time: Boat – approx. 90 minutes / Driving – approx. four hours
Begin your day with the Sky Tram, a gondola ascending to the highest peak of the Arenal region. Along the way, look for unique flora and fauna visible only from this vantage point. At the summit, an observation deck offers sweeping views of Arenal Volcano, Arenal Lake and the forest canopy below.
Next, elevate your adventure with the Sky Trek, a zipline experience that spans seven cables. Fly between mountains at heights of up to 200 metres and distances reaching 750 metres, all under the expert guidance of trained professionals.
Wrap up your tour with the suspended bridges of the Sky Walk, weaving through the forest canopy.
Depart Arenal for Monteverde, sitting 1,440m above sea level. Start your day with a scenic boat ride across Arenal Lake, then continue by coach to the high cloud forest. Here, you can search for plentiful monkeys and tropical birds as you cross hanging bridges or zipline between dense foliage.
In the afternoon, choose to visit the Butterfly Gardens, Frog Pond or join a coffee tour. Afterward, unwind at your resort in the cloud forest on Cerro Plano.
Travel time: Boat – approx. 30 minutes / Driving – approx. five hours
Start your day with a visit to the Sky Walk in Monteverde, where you can see the cloud forest from the ground to the canopy, watching for wildlife in the trees.
