Two BONUS nights in Bangkok
Your guide collects you early this morning for an hour-and-a-half drive to the Maeklong Railway Market, where the stalls extend over the railway tracks. When a train is scheduled to pass through, this sizeable seafood market methodically compresses itself to clear the rails for the incoming locomotive – a sight that should be seen to be believed.
Continue on to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, one of Thailand’s most popular attractions. Back in Bangkok, step into Wat Pho, the oldest operating centre for public education in Thailand and witness the famous reclining Buddha statue.
After, hop aboard a public shuttle across the Chao Phraya River on your way to the riverside Wat Arun, or ‘Temple of the Dawn’, dating back to the 17th century.
Tonight, savour one last dinner at your hotel, then choose to spend your evening as you desire.
It’s time to bid farewell to Southeast Asia as you enjoy one last breakfast before checkout. Wave goodbye to new friends as you make your way to Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).
With two additional nights in Bangkok, revel in a city of old and new where sacred temples and electric street scenes sit side by side. At Wat Pho, home to the vast reclining Buddha and a centre for traditional Thai massage, centuries of religious artistry speak through intricate murals and golden spires. Across the Chao Phraya River, the porcelain-encrusted towers of Wat Arun shimmer in the sunlight, offering sweeping views of the city from its steep steps.
Beyond the capital, journey to the Maeklong Railway Market, where vendors deftly retracting awnings and moving produce from the tracks just moments before a train passes through. Nearby, long-tail boats weave through the canals of Damnoen Saduak, where traders in wide-brimmed hats float by with colourful fruits, handmade sweets and sizzling street food, preserving a way of life that predates the modern sprawl.
