We enjoyed our stay in a Lake View room on the fifth floor. The view was amazing and there was always some activity to watch on the lake. The location is very convenient being close to the town, restaurants, The Steamer Wharf and lakeside walks. The airport bus stop is at the front door. Our room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the balcony was a great place to sit and admire the views. Breakfasts were great with a good selection of food and the service was wonderful. All staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly and we were very impressed by the quality of service. Thank you, Crowne Plaza.

Overall great stay! Recommended for the location alone but I will say all the staff here I interacted with were top notch and brought a cheerful and helpful attitude to every issue or request i had. Onsite restaurant was good too for dinner. Rooms a little more tired than their sister crown plaza in Christchurch where we stayed before here but still fine.

Without doubt the Crowne Plaza sits in THE prime location in Queenstown and should be on your "must stay" list. It really is so close to town that you can walk everywhere within 5 minutes. The hotel itself, while a little older, has a warm charm that fits the relaxed nature of the township. The rooms are typical for their age but really well equipped and nicely presented. The bed was comfortable (with double pillows) and the A/C did its job keeping the room cool during our week long summer stay. The breakfast area was so nice to enjoy each morning. Beautifully lit by the sun, it was a delightful place to dine and watch the activities outside. I would really recommend including the buffet breakfast as part of your stay. If you have a car, I'd suggest choosing the parking option as street parking can be difficult. The is a mini-mart right next door and lots of restaurants and activities are on your doorstep. The only negative part of our stay (and why I gave 4 stars) was that I asked for a "wonderful view" for our chosen King Lake View room under the special request section. Unfortunately we were given room 212 which is the King Lake room with the worst view - it's on the lowest floor situated above the awning for the car park below. I asked on check-out if my special requested was noted on my booking which it was. While I in no way expect all special requests to be possible, I would have thought upon check-in at least someone could have acknowledged it and said " we noted your request but were unfortunately unable to provide the room you wanted". Admittedly, I would not have paid the premium for this Lake View room had I known its location.

Location is the main attraction for this property. Rooms are ok but old style. Need refurbishing. Breakfast is ok, decent range. Service need great improvement. Staff at reception need to be more courteous. On check out date, we came to know checkout time is 11am, we requested to extend it by just 1 hr to 12. The lady at reception 'Lisa', refused saying we are fully booked. On our repeated request, she agreed to extend one room for just 30 mnts. I even told her that I am IHG member but she refused to help us out. Then we said it's ok, we check out now only and asked her to get our bags down, and we went out there to sit in a restaurant. To our surprise, when we came back at 12, after 1 hr, our bags were still up in room (the room she was desperate to get vacate as they needed for other guests). I am IHG member for over 10 yrs, but this was really surprising and annoying.
