Destinations

Singapore

The food capital of the world

Chinese, Malay, and Indian traditions meld in this island-state at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. The site of the world's busiest port, Singapore offers the Mustafa Centre, a 24-hour mall and Sunte, the world's largest fountain.

Play evening golf on lighted fairways; experience the nightlife on Mohamed Sultan Road; or relax at an outdoor spa. Be certain not to miss the savory seafood.

Samurang

The gateway to awe-inspiring sites

This commercial port, busily exporting the island’s most important products (including of course the beans for your next cup of java), is your gateway to two amazing religious sites.

Borobudur is the largest Buddhist monument in the world—a 3D mandala (diagram of the universe), and perhaps a gigantic textbook to guide mortals striving to attain enlightenment. Prambanan is a complex of lofty, sharply sculpted towers honoring the Hindu triumvirate of Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver, and Shiva the destroyer. Both religions traveled this way with Indian traders in the early centuries AD.

Celukan

A land of infinite pleasures

In spite of it being the main cargo port of northern Bali, Celukan Bawang is a relatively quiet town located in the middle of a beautiful bay. It’s an ideal place to soak in the sun and relax, yet still be conveniently situated near some of the island’s more lively destinations.

Of course, being Bali, the beaches here are gorgeous, particularly the black sand stretches of Lovina and the nearby surf mecca of Kuta.

For more land-based pursuits, Celukan Bawang offers great shopping and an array of restaurants that specialize in Balinese cuisine, considered one of the most complex cuisines in the world and featuring an amazing variety of spices combined with fresh seafood, meat, and vegetables

Komodo

The land of dragons

“Here be dragons”, the motto emblazoned on maps of old to designate lands and seas unknown, is in this case correct.

The Komodo dragon is the world’s largest living lizard, and can be found only within Komodo National Park, of which this island is a part. A monitor lizard, it can reach a length of 10 feet, weigh more than 150 pounds, and live for over 50 years.

Komodo also has a particularly rich marine life, with some 200 of species of reef building corals, hundreds of varieties of tropical fish, and whales, dolphins, and sea turtles too.

Lombok

A tropical island paradise

While little is known of this Indonesian island prior to the 17th century, the tropical paradise of Lombok is now famed among travelers as “an unspoiled Bali”, with lush forests, spectacular white-sand beaches, world-class surfing, waterfalls, and hiking trails through fields of rice and tobacco.

If you’re looking for a more challenging hike, though, there’s always Gunung Rinjani, Indonesia’s second highest volcano, where you’ll be rewarded at the summit with natural hot springs and a crater lake.

Less arduous adventures include traditional Sasak massages (often available on Lombok’s Senggigi and Mangsit beaches), snorkeling and scuba diving, bike tours, and shopping for pearls, as Lombok is renowned as one as “one of the best pearl producers in the world.”

Benoa - Bali

A land of enchanted temples, beaches & flowers

Bali is enchanting—a lush, verdant isle where rice terraces color every available acre with the brilliant green of young shoots, and volcanic peaks said to house the gods tower above. It is a deeply spiritual place, where artful offerings of flowers and incense are ever present, and on any given day at least one of the thousands of temples scattered around the island will be hosting a colorful festival.

Culturally rich, each village has its own artistic specialty: music, dance, painting, and sculpture. The beaches are tempting, but if you want the real Bali, head for the hills. The Balinese occupy that middle ground, and demons reside in the sea.

The Best Cruise Ever! Azamara was so much more than a traditional cruise, it was an experience I will never forget! The Azamara team was first class, the service was like no other, food was spectacular (especially Prime C) and of course Cruise Director Russ has an incredible energy that I will never forget. For the record, I usually find something wrong and I truly can't with Azamara. You have a repeat client and I will share my wonderful experience with everyone I know."Azamara Cruise Guest Testimonial
Having sailed on Azamara several times I can categorically say that it is a fantastic luxury experience both at sea and ashore! The ships themselves are elegantly done with beautifully appointed cabins and lots charming spaces to sip coffee (or champagne!), chat with friends or read a book. The crew is always smiling and eager to assist guests in any way - whether it is their department or not. The food in all the dining rooms is excellent and the Specialty restaurants, Prime C and Aqualina, rival any fine dining establishment in New York. I love the extended stays in port (and the fact that there are so many unusual ports!) especially when it is for several days as it really lets see an area in depth - not the usual whiz through that most cruises have. As for the Azamazing Evenings - Wow! Wow! and Wow again! No wonder the repeat passenger percentages are so high!"Azamara Cruise Guest Testimonial
First and foremost, I wanted to let you know that we thoroughly enjoyed our recent cruise on Quest. It was FABULOUS (even better than last year, IF that is possible). We were upgraded to a Club Ocean Suite on the front of the ship—we loved the large port-hole above the desk, and the suite was perfect for entertaining the other two couples that sailed with us. We also love the longer times in port—it totally differentiates Azamara Club Cruises from all the others and the service onboard was outstanding. Our butler, Melvin, was superb, as were our stateroom attendants (Richard and Russell). The Captain really went out of his way to take care of his guests, as did Philip the hotel manager. The cruise director was great... we could go on and on, but wanted to share with you our experience."Azamara Cruise Guest Testimonial
