The Sands Torquay is perched on an 18-hole championship golf course designed by former Australian professional golfer Stuart Appleby. Take the short drive into Torquay township where you’ll find boutiques and gourmet bites or travel a little further afield to the wonders of the Great Ocean Road, including the the spectacular Twelve Apostles.

The resort is located at the start of the Great Ocean Road in Torquay – a thriving coastal town just 10 minutes from the internationally renowned Bells Beach and mere moments from eateries and boutiques. Drop into the Australian National Surfing Museum, visit 4 Pines Brewing Company, explore nearby wineries like Bellbrae Estate or cruise along one of Australia’s most famed stretches of coastline.

The Sands Torquay is approximately a 90-minute drive from Melbourne Airport (MEL) or 40 minutes from Avalon Airport (AVV). Airport transfers are not included in your package, please plan accordingly.

Accommodation bookings can be cancelled with a full refund provided the cancellation is made no less than 1 day prior to check-in. That is cancel by 11:59 pm (local time of property) 1 full day prior to the day of check-in. Excludes flights.

Great stay in Torquay. Giving this place 5 stars because I cannot find a reason not to. A bit out of the downtown/ beach area but an easy drive in. Nice park and trails nearby. Beach access and parking is close. And not as crowded as in town. Beautiful golf course, big pool and fitness center. Could easily spend a week or more here. Nice bar overlooking the golf course. Several eating options. Although I will say we tried the Pizza. It was extremely salty. Rooms are nice size. Clean. Beds are comfortable with nice comforters. Huge T.V., biggest flat screen ever..!! Nice patio with table/ chairs. Beautiful view of the parking lot..! Great WiFi..Lots of parking.. Front desk is very helpful and friendly. Same with the golf pros. You can get clubs and balls and use the range. All within a short walk of your room. We would definitely stay again on our next trip through this area. Highly recommend.

Beautiful rooms, good amenities and comfortable beds. Had a very comfortable experience. The lady checking us in at the front desk was so lovely and helpful - absolutely incredible guest services (I'm very sorry I forgot her name). We had dinner in the hotel restaurant twice and had perfect meals with absolutely incredible service- a huge shout out to Leonie and Levi who were both so attentive, friendly and awesome both nights. Thank you for your fantastic service with a smile and helping make our stay an incredible experience!

Went to the Sands Torquay as a small birthday getaway for my partner. Rooms were well maintained and clean. The location is a very short walk to the beach. Customer service was phenomenal. A special shout out to Tracey that was working behind the desk that served us when we arrived. We would like to thank Tracey for her amazing customer service and for making the stay even more special for us. Customer service like this is very rare to come by, so we thank you immensely. Would definitely consider coming back here.

Lovely reception from Tracey - impeccable customer service and a room upgrade which was greatly appreciated. Room was lovely, large, airy, comfortable with a nice balcony and view. Only downside was very poor shower pressure and a fair way outside of town. I’m a local so know its location well and had my car but if you are a tourist wanting to experience Torquay this hotel is a tad too far out of the way.
