Day 1

Australia - Hanoi

Upon arrival in Hanoi be greeted by our friendly representative who will transfer you to the hotel

Day 2

Hanoi – Halong - overnight on cruise 

Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

After breakfast at the hotel, journey to Halong Bay and board the Indochina Sails. Guests are greeted with a welcome drink and will begin to cruise through the Bai Tu Long Bay - the most beautiful and quiet area in Bai Tu Long Bay and Halong Bay to visit Cua Van Fishing Village, the largest fishing village on the Bay. At the village guests can choose between kayaking through the village or on small bamboo boats (sampans) rowed by the villagers. Back on board guests can enjoy a Vietnamese cooking class held by ship's Chef.

Day 3

Halong Bay - Hanoi – Half day city tour

Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner  

The next morning enjoy coffee, tea and breakfast pastries, Tai Chi lessons led by a tai chi master, before leaving the boat at 7.45am for a walking tour of Titov Beach Island. About one hour is spent on the island allowing time for a climb up the steps to the peak for a breathtaking 360 degree view of the Bay (there is also an expansive viewing deck half way up). After the climb there is time left to relax on the beach and have a swim. Back onboard enjoy a full breakfast buffet, including traditional Vietnamese noodles. After breakfast guests may relax in the dining room and lounge or on the deck enjoying the last Bay views before disembarking. Your guide will pick you up again for late lunch in Hanoi followed by a visit to Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple and a ride on cyclo around the Old Quarter. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and watch Vietnam’s unique Water Puppet Show.

Day 4


Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner 

After breakfast enjoy some free time before you transfer to airport for your flight to Yangon. Then transfer to the hotel before the welcome dinner. Yangon lies in the fertile delta of southern Myanmar, on the wide Yangon River. The city is filled with shaded boulevards, while shimmering stupas float above the treetops. The city became the capital only in 1885, when the British completed their conquest of Upper Myanmar and Mandalay's brief period as capital of the last Burmese kingdom ended.

Day 5


Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner 

Your sightseeing begins by visiting the Giant Marble Buddha Image & Royal White Elephant, Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda, and then a photo stop at the heart of Yangon before visiting the Sule Pagoda, MahaBandoola Park and Independence Monument, City Hall, the High Court and many more colonial style buildings. Walk along the streets of Pansodan, in which you will find the beautiful post office, Senate buildings and the beautiful colonial buildings at the House of the Culture. Enjoy the sunset at the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, covered in gold and contains diamonds, rubies and emeralds. Here many locals and Buddhists come to worship and it is here that eight strands of Buddha’s hair are said to be kept.

Day 6


Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner 

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Bagan -  home to more than 2,200 standing ancient temples and as such, is Myanmar’s greatest architectural site. Embark on a full day Bagan sightseeing tour with a visit to Nyaung-U local market, the golden pagoda of Shwezigon pagoda, and see 12th century frescoes adorning the corridors of Kyansitta "Cave" temple. Continue to Gubyaukgyi, another "cave" temple with fine frescoes of "jataka tales". Next stop is Htilominlo, the last Bamar style temple built in Bagan, with old murals and friezes. Pass through Tharaba Gateway into Old Bagan and visit Manuha Temple with gigantic Buddha images, a captive king's impression of life in prison; Nanpaya, an temple with the finest stone carvings, Ananda temple, a whitewashed masterpiece of Mon architecture with four standing Buddhas, and the adjacent brick monastery from the early Bagan era with wellpreserved murals and much more

Day 7


Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner  

Today you will journey to Sulamani, one of Pagan's great two-storied Bamar style temples, see the Lemethna temple, and visit the three shrines of Payathonzu which are connected by passages adorned with Mahayanist or Tantric mural paintings. Visit Nandamanya temple with its fine frescoes and an unexpectedly erotic mural. This late afternoon, visit the village of Minnanthu to see how the local people live. In the afternoon, visit Abeyardanar temple with frescoes representing Bodhisattvas and the gods of Indian mythology. Enjoy a panoramic view of the sun setting over the plain of Bagan from one of the pagoda platforms.

Day 8


Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner 

Morning transfer to the airport for byour flight to Mandalay. Mandalay embodies all the elements of Myanmar’s ancient educational, social and
cultural systems. Today you will visit the ancient city of Amarapura known as the City of Immortality. Make a visit Mahagandaryone Monastery
the largest teaching monastery in Myanmar. Each day at around 10:30 close to 700 monks queue up for their morning
meal ritual.
From the monastery continue to U Bein Bridge for a walk along this 200 year-old teak bridge. The bridge was
constructed of 984 teak posts that were once part of the deserted Inwa Palace and it is 1.2 kilometers in length
making it the world’s longest teak span. Enjoy a stroll along the bridge and the fabulous views of the surrounding
farms and streams.
This afternoon visit Mya Nan San Kyaw Palace (Royal Palace). This golden palace represents Myanmar’s Sovereignty
and independence and can arouse a national patriotic spirit amongst the people of Myanmar. The Royal Palace was
destroyed by a British forces air raid in March 1945 but was finally renovated and restored faithfully into its original
structure in September 1996. The 89 main halls were re-built with reference to the original photographs, pictures,
palm-leaf manuscripts and a miniature model.
Later head to Shwenandaw Monastery, once part of the palace complex until it was dismantled and reassembled on
its present site in 1880 as a monastery. This wooden structure is carved all over with beautiful motifs and mythical
creatures. Originally the building was entirely covered in thick gold, today only the interior gold remains due to
harshness of the tropical weather. Continue to Kuthodaw Pagoda, often called the world's largest book (a set of 729 huge stone slabs on which the Buddhist scriptures are inscribed). Finish the day with a visit to Mandalay Hill to watch sunset over the city plains.

Day 9

Mandalay –Ava – Sagaing – Mandalay

Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Morning visit MaharMyat Muni Buddha image the most revered Buddha image in Mandalay. The image is cast in Bronze and completely covered with 15cm thick gold donated by locals from all over the country. Then continue for an excursion around Mandalay to explore the former capitals of Ava and Sagaing. Cross a bridge over the Irrawaddy River to Sagaing. Covered with 600 white-painted pagodas and monasteries, Sagaing Hill is widely regarded as the religious center of Myanmar. It is home to 3,000 monks and 100 meditation centers and you will visit pagodas such as Swan OoPonNya Shin and U Min Thone Sae. We’ll also visit Sagaing’s local market, a typical Burmese market that few tourists visit. Here you will find a range of items for sale including locally made pottery, silver and other handicrafts. We will also stop at a small pottery village to see the process of making the ubiquitous water pots found throughout Myanmar. Then continue south of the city to Ava, the capital from 14th to 18th centuries, where a short ferry ride will take us across the river to where our horse and carriage are waiting. Visit by native horse carriage to the old wooden Bagaya Monastery and the remains of the Royal Palace and Fort. There are many small villages located amid Ava’s ruins and as you travel by horse and cart you’ll get a glimpse of local life in the Burmese countryside, Mainu Brick Monastery and old watch tower. Then return to Mandalay.

Day 10

Mandalay-Heho-Inle Lake

Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Morning fly to Heho where gate way to Inle Lake. On arrival, welcome by English speaking stationed guide with your name board then you have to take a scenic route to NyaungShwe Jetty by traveling the uphill and winding road over the Shan Plateau. Then transfer to the hotel by boat for hotel check in. Enjoy a boat ride on Inle Lake for the whole day. Your sightseeing will start with a visit the Phaungdawoo Pagoda, houses five small Buddha images. The next must see stop is NgaPheChaung Monastery, an attractive wooden monastery built on stilts over the lake at the end of the 1850s and where you can see the popular jumping cats leap through the hoops. Your tour would be completed with a visit to local silverware workshop, Silk and Lotus weaving workshop, blacksmith workshop, cheroot making and traditional boat making factory

Day 11

Inle Lake

Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Morning visit famous of 5 market day if we coincide. This market is subject to availability as the date is set by the local people and the location changes every 5 days. This market usually finishes at approximately 10:00 am. You will see hill tribes trading their farm products of vegetables, fruits, sun dried tea leaves, art, works of wooden sculpture with their unique style in a bustling atmosphere. Then visit Indein village, located at the western side of the lake. Passing NyaungOhak Monastery and follow a stair path lined up with many hundreds of wooden columns, you finally will reach the impressive ShweIndein Pa-O complex. From the hillside you have great view over the lake area. On the way back to the boat, walk through a romantic bamboo forest at the riverside, where you may observe local people having a bath.

Day 12

Inle Lake – Heho – Yangon

Meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Morning fly back to Yangon. Welcome by English stationed guide again for Yangon city tour includes: visit Kandawgyi Lake and surrounding area which offer numerous photo opportunities, shopping in the Bogyoke market formerly "Scott market", where you can get a wide range of Myanmar handicraft, jewelries, fabrics, lacquer wares and so on. (note: Bogyoke market is closed on Mondays and Public holidays.) In the early evening visit Botahtaung Pagoda, a famous landmark on Yangon’s waterfront where one can see Buddha's hair relic, Nanthida Jetty to witness the daily life of the local people and Yangon's River that offers a remarkable atmosphere with spectacular colours and photo opportunities then stroll around in little India & China town an evening market selling various kind of food, fruits and products.

Day 13

Yangon – Saigon – Australia
