What You’ll Love…
The Experiences – Included flights will take you to the famous sights of ancient Egypt
When someone says “Egypt”, images of ancient tombs, enormous pyramids, Pharaohs and a rich cultural history come to mind – and that is exactly what you’ll get on this 12-day tour of one of the most fascinating countries in Northeast Africa.
Witness the splendour of one of the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World with a trip to Cairo’s Great Pyramids. Built around 2500 B.C, the largest pyramid, Giza, is not only the oldest wonder of the world but also the only to remain largely intact. Nearby, capture the magnificence of the Great Sphinx of Giza. The limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a human is a huge 73 metres long from paw to tail and is one of the most visited sites in the country.
Journey to the Egyptian Museum and allow yourself to be transported back in time as you marvel at a vast collection of Pharaonic antiques – including the golden treasures of Tutankhamun.
On the third day of the tour, hop in the private deluxe motor coach and travel to Alexandria – the second largest city in Egypt and an interesting economic hub. Perched on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, Alexandria holds a lot of the historical culture of Egypt.
You’ll explore the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages that was accidentally discovered in 1900 when a donkey disappeared through the ground. The Catacombs make up the largest Roman burial site in Egypt and combine the phenomenal architecture of Pharaonic and Greek styles.
Board the five-star MS Princess Sarah II cruise ship for seven nights and set out to explore ancient Egypt from a new angle as you sail down the famous Nile River.
The Cruise – Journey down the Nile River for seven nights aboard a five-star cruise ship
Spend seven luxurious nights floating down the longest river in the world and discover more of Egypt. Your cruise will make multiple stops during its journey, allowing you to disembark and explore the country by foot and motor coach.
With five decks, a swimming pool, an expansive sun deck and a 150-seat restaurant, the five-star cruise ship provides a luxurious way to continue your exploration of this fascinating country. Explore the city of Edfu and stop by Thebes, where some of the richest treasures in the world exist - such as the tomb of the famous Tutankhamun.
Cruise to Aswan – a southern Egyptian city situated on the Nile, famous for its High Dam, which has improved navigation across the Nile River since it was built in 1960. Enjoy an afternoon sail on an Egyptian felucca around two different islands and experience a traditional Mediterranean mode of transport.
Journey to the agricultural mecca of Kom Ombo and travel to the modern Egyptian village of Esna, before heading back to Luxor and disembarking, before taking an included domestic flight to Cairo.
