The Accommodation - A farm-house style retreat in the middle of nature

Located just on the outskirts of Mt William National Park, Icena Farm House in Musselroe Bay is a charming property set amongst nature, boasting spacious fully self-contained homes. The perfect spot to unwind at the end of each day and drink up the lush natural surrounds. Each of the self-contained farm houses come furnished with a TV, dishwasher and washing machine, fan-forced oven and microwave, as well as outdoors deck and barbeque.

Start your hikes feeling the white sand beneath your feet as you walk from the remote coastal conservation area of Musselroe Bay to Boulder Point, admiring picturesque lagoons and dramatic headlands as you go.

Soak up the view from the peak of Mt William (216m), where in clear weather, you can admire panoramic vistas across the coast and inland and the Bass Strait islands to the north.

Enjoy a scenic walk from Boulder Point to Cobbler Rocks, Cod Bay and Deep Creek in Mt William National Park, with its beautiful beaches, plentiful wildlife – including kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, Tasmanian devils, birds and more.

Discover the pink granite lighthouse of Eddystone Point, which dates back to 1889.

From Deep Creek, head south to the beautiful Anson’s Bay where a plethora of bird life resides, including the superb blue wren, and flame, dusky and scarlet robins.

The package is valid for ONE PERSON aged 18 years and older (based on twin share). If you are travelling with another person you must purchase TWO PACKAGES, otherwise, an additional single traveller surcharge will apply. Single travellers will get their own room throughout the tour. Should you be happy to share a room with another traveller, please add this information to the 'special requests' field upon booking.

Single Traveller Surcharge: If you are a solo traveller, you must pay a single traveller surcharge of AU$300, payable directly to the tour operator.

Please note, this tour is not suitable for children. Guests under the age of 18 are not permitted on the tour.

Maximum Tour Capacity: The maximum tour capacity is 10 people. Minimum group size of seven people is required for tour to depart. If the minimum is not met for your preferred date, an alternative date will be offered. If the alternative date isn't suitable, a refund will be offered. Please do not book your flights until the tour company confirms your date.

This package is for a tour only. Flights are not included and need to be purchased separately.

Maximum Room Capacity: The maximum room capacity is two adults. Room configuration is one king or queen bed or twin single beds.

Connecting rooms are not available.

Booking confirmation must be presented at check-in.

All surcharges are payable directly to the hotel.

Dining inclusions do not include beverages (unless otherwise stated) and menu options are subject to change. Main meals (three breakfasts, four lunches and three dinners across the duration of the tour) and snacks such as fresh fruit, trail mix and nibbles are included, but any additional items such as ice cream or coffees will be at your own expense.

Please note, alcohol is not included however guests aged 18 years and older may bring their own.

Return transfers are included; pick-up on day one and drop-off on day four will be from a central Launceston location. Please note the specific location and times will be advised on booking, arrival times are approximate.

Guests are required to bring only a soft bag with a max. weight of 15kg instead of a solid suitcase. Soft bags are more forgiving in terms of storage and easier for the tour crew to handle. Please also be aware that your luggage may get dust on it while travelling in the trailer.

Day 1: Launceston – Musselroe Bay to Boulder Point 13km walking, approx. 5 hours of walking, including breaks (easy to moderate grade)

Today we pickup from the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Launceston at 7.45am for an 8am departure. We head out into the northern section of Mount William National park to begin the Bay of Fires beach walk at the northern end of Musselroe Bay. We walk from the remote coastal conservation area of Musselroe Bay to Boulder Point, predominantly on the sand. The incredibly scenic coastline of deserted white-sand beaches punctuated by windswept headlands, sheltered lagoons and estuaries.

Following on from this we head off for an easy one hour return walk to the top of Mt William. From the peak (216m) in clear weather, you can enjoy extensive views over the coast and inland, while to the north you’ll see some of the Bass Strait islands.

We then head back to our accommodation to unpack and here we enjoy pre-dinner nibbles followed by a two-course meal prepared by your guides.

Day 2: Boulder Point to Deep Creek 13km, approx. 5 hours walking, including breaks– moderate grade

After breakfast and lunch making we head off for the day’s beach walk from Boulder Point to Deep Creek in Mt William National Park.

From its long beaches to its teeming wildlife; from its unique history to its abundant plant life, Mt William National Park is a place of constant fascination.

This section is one of the more remote and untouched along the trail. Today we explore Boulder Point, Cobbler Rocks and Cod Bay finishing at Deep Creek. Today’s trek includes some sand walking and there are some rocky areas around the headlands to navigate, but the scenery is well worth the effort.

We finish the day at Eddystone Point with a visit to the impressive pink granite lighthouse built in 1889.

After the day’s walk we head back to our accommodation for well-earned pre-dinner nibbles followed by a fabulous two-course meal prepared by your guides.

Day 3: Deep Creek via Eddyson Point to Ansons Bay 15km, approx 6 hours walking, including breaks – moderate grade

After breakfast and lunch making we begin our walk today at Deep Creek and head south to beautiful Anson’s Bay.

Bird life is rich and varied, with nearly 100 species occurring here. Heathland species include the superb blue wren, flame, dusk and scarlet robin. Being a coastal park, Mt. William is also an excellent area for observing sea birds.

After the day’s walk we head back to our accommodation for well-earned pre-dinner nibbles followed by a fabulous two-course meal prepared by your guides.

Day 4: Policeman’s Point to The Gardens 15 km, approx. 4 to 5 hours walking including breaks, moderate grade

After breakfast and lunch making, we head into the Bay of Fires Conservation area for our last day’s walking. Beginning at Policeman’s Point we traverse over the iconic white sands you have come to know as the beautiful Bay of Fires.

Most of todays walking is along the wide sandy beaches, crossing over pebbly beach, break yoke beach, gardens lagoon beach to our final destination of the Gardens. However, you will navigate some rocky headlands as well as forested tracks along the way.

From here we head back toward Launceston.

We aim to be back in Launceston approximately 5.00pm so if flying out after the tour please do not book flights before 6.30pm.

Getting to Launceston is easy with flights departing daily from Melbourne and Sydney.

Please note on the final day of the tour, departing flights should not be booked before 6.30pm.
