By night, listen to the Australian bush as wallabies and buffalo wander by. - It is recommended to check-in no later than 3.30pm on arrival day, so guests can join an afternoon safari experience.
- Bamurru Plains is open to guests from February to October each year. The property will be closed for the 2026/27 season from 1 November 2026 to 31 January 2027.
- Bamurru Plains is accessible by light plane or is a three-hour drive from Darwin, and a 2.5 hour drive from Jabiru. The nearest major airport is Darwin International Airport (DRW). Airport transfers are not included in your package, but charter flights are available to purchase through the vendor. Please plan accordingly.
- Menus are subject to change without notice.
- Unlimited free-flow drinks include an open bar in the main lodge, including a selection of Australian wines, beer and spirits. Tea and coffee making facilities are also available, as well as light snacks and filtered water.
- Daily canapes and sundowners are served on the lodge deck before dinner or take place during the afternoon wilderness activity.
- Daily meals include breakfast, lunch and a three-course dinner, all provided by the in-house chef and served at the main lodge. Specific serving times can be confirmed with staff upon arrival.
- Twice-daily wildlife safaris may include airboat safaris, open-top safari drives, crocodile spotting river cruises and more (subject to seasonal conditions).
- All wilderness safaris are shared experiences. Advanced activity selection is not available. At Bamurru, no two days are the same, and wildlife movements change with the seasons. The lodge manager and field guides carefully plan experiences based on the duration of a stay and to provide the best possible chance of experiencing Bamurru’s variety of environments and wildlife. Upon your arrival the field guides will explain the experiences occurring during your stay. If you do have an experience preference, please advise at time of booking and the reservations team will gladly note it.
- You can generally expect to be out for between two and three hours. For best wildlife viewing, you will typically have an early morning activity and one later in the afternoon around 4pm.
- All wildlife experiences are dependent on the day’s weather and the amount of rain that has fallen over the wet season. Whilst every effort will be made to give guests an experience on the airboat at least once during their stay, there may be times towards the end of the season that this is not possible due to lack of water in the floodplain. In this case, a replacement activity will take place.
- It is not possible to charge electric vehicles at Bamurru Plains. The nearest charging station is at Corroboree Park Tavern in Marrakai – 2174 Arnhem Highway, Marrakai 0822, Northern Territory, about 1.5 hours from Bamurru Plains.
