Amilla Maldives
The Resort – Coconut jungle, private pools and a Blue Hole of its own
Take the long way to lunch at Amilla Maldives: a shaded three-kilometre walking and cycling circuit winds through coconut jungle, opening onto glimpses of white sand and turquoise water. Explore on a complimentary bicycle, stopping to find your favourite stretch of beach along the way. More than 2,500 coconut palms shade this natural island, where a banana plantation, organic gardens and homegrown produce give the greenery a purpose beyond the postcard.
Back at your villa, there’s room to make yourself at home. Private pools come as standard, with villa sizes starting at 220 square metres of combined indoor and outdoor space. In the Water Pool Villa, floor-to-ceiling glass doors open onto overwater living and dining areas, an over-lagoon hammock and a freshwater infinity pool. Drift between the pool and the lagoon, rinse off beneath the outdoor rain shower, then settle in to watch the ocean from your terrace.
The surrounding waters reward closer attention. Set within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, Amilla’s house reef earned a place among the Maldives’ Top 8 Best House Reefs in the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2026. Look out for turtles and tropical reef fish, or join a guided snorkelling excursion to the island’s own Blue Hole, where coral formations shelter schools of colourful fish. An on-site marine biologist works with the Atoll Marine Centre on conservation initiatives, including turtle nesting monitoring, while the resort’s coral-restoration programme helps repair damaged sections of reef.

Accessibility at Amilla Maldives
Amilla’s IncluCare certification reflects practical support for travellers with mobility, hearing and sensory needs. Complimentary beach and floating wheelchairs, ramp access to restaurants and Javvu Spa, shower seats and flashing fire alarms help make the island more accessible. With advance notice, the team can arrange additional villa ramps, pool-access equipment and tailored snorkelling experiences. Discuss your requirements with the resort before booking: sandy paths and seaplane and boat transfers can present challenges, while the Treetop Pool Villas and Sunset Bar require stair access.
