Your introduction to Borneo’s natural treasures starts with a visit to the world-famous Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary, a temporary home to injured or orphaned orangutans. Spend some time watching these gentle creatures in this rehabilitation centre as they play and feed throughout this rainforest nursery, and learn about the efforts behind animal conservation and rehabilitation. Get the unique chance to catch sight of the gorgeous sun bears roaming outside the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre as you come to understand more about the plight of these rare, honey-loving animals.
Discover the rich history of Sandakan, a compact city with an extraordinary heritage. Here you will wander around the biggest market in town, brimming with fresh local produce. Take in splendid views over the bay while strolling through the beautiful Puu Jih Shih Buddhist Temple – one of the finest Chinese temples in the area, then learn more about the tumultuous WWII events that took place in this area, visiting the moving Sandakan War Memorial.
Visit the iconic Mt Kinabalu, the highest mountain on the world’s third largest island. The surrounds of this UNESCO World Heritage site are known across the globe for the incredible range of nature, serving as home to around 6,000 different species of flora and fauna in total. Booking Conditions: The tour operator will be in touch within 72 hours of purchasing the package. The booking forms must be returned to the tour operator within 7 days of purchasing the package. Reservations cannot be made until the booking form is returned to the tour operator.
Please note: Packages are not transferrable to any other person. The tour order, itinerary, departure dates and airlines cannot be changed after the tour has been confirmed in writing. Any changes to confirmed reservations will incur in a AU$150 change fee per person.
Flights: Return economy class airfares from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth are included in the package with Malaysia Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines, China Southern Airlines Malindo Airlines and Air Asia. Please note airlines are at complete discretion of Tour Provider. Maximum travel time is approximately 30 hours. Please note, preferred airline seating is the responsibility of the passenger. You will need to contact the airline to book and pay for any specific airline seats reservations. You will receive your booking number with your tour confirmation and then you can contact the airline. If you wish to not prebook reserved seats, the airline will seat you accordingly at time of check in.
Other Australian Capital Cities: Flights from Hobart, Canberra and Adelaide are available for a surcharge of AU$200 per peson. Flights from Darwin are available for a surcharge of AU$550.
Flights Upgrades: Quotations for upgradeable airfares to premium economy, business class or your preferred airlines are only valid for 72 hours after you receive the quoted airfare.
Change of Date: The change of date fee is AU$150 per person plus any applicable additional airfare and taxes. After airline tickets have been issued the package can only be changed by paying a AU$350 per person airline change fee plus any applicable airfares and taxes.
The package is valid for ONE PERSON aged 12 years or older (based on twin share). If you are travelling with another person you must purchase TWO PACKAGES, otherwise, an additional single traveller surcharge will apply. Single travellers will get their own room throughout the tour.
Single Traveller surcharge: If travelling alone, you must pay a single traveller surcharge of AU$600.
Child Policy: One child of any age may stay on a rollaway bed or fold-out sofa in the same room as their parents. A full price, twin-share package must be purchased.
Children of any age are welcome to join the tour.
The maximum capacity on this tour is 24 people.

Maximum Room Capacity: The maximum room capacity is two adults sleeping on double or twin bedding, plus one child of any age on a rollaway bed or fold-out sofa (full price, twin-share package price applies).

Hotels may not have ramps, wide entryways or elevators to accommodate disabled passengers or devices such as wheelchairs, walkers and motorised scooters. Due to physical constraints and space limitations, wheelchairs, walking frames and motorised scooters may not be taken aboard motor coaches.
The name on the tour booking is not transferrable to any other person.
If a hotel listed is not available, a hotel of a similar standard will be substituted.
