Day 1: Arrive in Perth

Welcome to Perth, a city where nature and buzzing metropolis collide with a dash of urban cool. Although one of Australia’s most isolated cities, this magical destination has no shortage of new things to see and discover.

With a slew of fine-dining institutions popping up in spaces like Elizabeth Quay, the State Buildings and Yagan Square, and unending kilometres of soft sandy beaches and river shores lined with eucalyptus bushlands, this burgeoning metropolis will keep you on your toes with its trendy boutiques, restaurants and iconic landmarks.

On arrival at Perth Airport, you will be met by a local representative and transferred to the five-star COMO The Treasury. Luxury meets history in this restoration of a grand 140-year-old building, now an elegant haven home to the world-renowned COMO Shambhala spa and the Wildflower restaurant, inspired by the indigenous six seasons. Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival before settling into your elegant Heritage Room.

Day 2: Perth — Busselton — Margaret River

This morning after breakfast at Post, head southwest to see the heritage 19th-century Busselton Jetty in the pristine Geographe Bay. Enjoy the walk to the end of the jetty before descending eight metres below sea level at the Underwater Observatory to discover an awe-inspiring underwater world (charges apply). With over 300 individual marine species sheltering below the jetty, you’ll be able to witness the natural life of tropical and subtropical corals, sponges and fish.

Afterwards, continue to the world-famous Margaret River region, a treasure trove boasting some of the country’s slickest drops, most creative microbreweries and award-winning eats just a three-hour drive from Perth. Take the scenic route past windswept beaches to arrive at the region’s founding wine estate, Vasse Felix.

Specialising in award-winning cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay, with a welcoming cellar door, wine lounge, wine museum and one of Australia’s most acclaimed restaurants, this multi-talented vineyard is the ultimate place to kickstart your Margaret River discovery. Begin the day at the relaxed cellar door of Xanadu, one of the first vineyards established in the region, with a lowdown on how to taste and smell the wines, before heading to Voyager Estate.

Travel beyond the cellar door for an immersive ‘Behind the Scenes’ experience, beginning with a walk through the original 1978 vines and continuing with a wine tasting straight from the aged-oak barrels in the cellar. Once you’ve seen where the wine comes from, it’s time to sip a range of celebrated Margaret River varietals in the cellar door, before you’re treated to a dining experience at the chef-hatted Voyager Estate restaurant, one of WA’s top five restaurants.

Porterage

Dietary Requirements

In most cases Luxury Escapes can cater for special dietary requirements but please note that on occasion, this may not be possible due to location, lack of availability of ingredients, and other extenuating circumstances. It is always advised to carry supplies with you.

Any dietary requirements must be received by Luxury Escapes at least 30 days prior to your scheduled departure date. Failure to provide these details by this date may result in an inability to cater for your requirements.

Transfers

  • If transfers are included on your package, please note that these are only available on the first and last day of your tour. Arrival and departure transfers are included between the hours of 6am and 8pm only. If you arrive outside these hours a supplement may apply.   • If booking a Twin Share package, transfers are based on two people sharing the one vehicle. If you are arriving on different flights at different times, a supplement will be charged for two separate vehicles.

Itinerary Amendments & Changes

Occasionally our itineraries are updated prior to departure to incorporate improvements stemming from past travellers’ feedback as well as updates from our ground operators. COVID-Related Cancellations

For all new bookings made from 13 October 2020, if you can’t travel as a direct result of border closures or Government-imposed travel restrictions that directly impact your booking, Luxury Escapes will:

  • allow you to change the dates of your tour,
  • offer you a credit for another tour, or
  • refund the full value of your tour, less any third-party costs that Luxury Escapes can’t recover (including from airlines and tour providers).
