What you'll see

Salam, and welcome to Kyrgyzstan! Central Asia has long served as a crossroads of nomads, traders and empires, and Kyrgyzstan offers one of its most welcoming gateways. After arriving early this morning at Bishkek Manas International Airport (FRU), transfer to your hotel and enjoy an early check-in to refresh from your journey. Breakfast is available prior to 9am, giving you time to settle in before meeting your group. At 11.30am, gather in the lobby to meet your local guide and begin your first look at the Kyrgyz capital.

Your orientation tour starts at Ala-Too Square, the symbolic heart of Bishkek, where the statue of national folk hero Manas stands proudly over the city. Continue to the Old Square to view Government House and walk through Oak Park, where the Lenin Statue still watches over passing locals. From here, follow your guide into the lively aisles of Osh (Asian) Bazaar, a bustling introduction to the region’s spices, fresh produce and everyday city rhythm. Your walk continues toward the Kyrgyz Opera and Ballet Theatre before concluding at Victory Square, constructed to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Return to your hotel to rest or freshen up ahead of your welcome dinner at 7.30pm. This evening offers a chance to meet your fellow travellers and gain a clearer sense of the days ahead, from border crossings and rugged roads to the unique discoveries that define this rewarding off-the-beaten-path journey. Enjoy your first taste of Kyrgyz hospitality before settling in for the night.

Breakfast and Dinner

This morning, leave Bishkek behind and begin your journey into the valleys and foothills that characterise northern Kyrgyzstan. The landscape shifts quickly from city streets to open countryside, revealing rural villages, grazing livestock and wide views across the Chuy Valley. En route, stop at the UNESCO-listed Burana Tower, an 11th-century minaret built by the Karakhanid dynasty. Climb its narrow interior staircase for sweeping views across the surrounding fields and mountains, then explore the nearby open-air collection of balbals, the carved stone figures that once marked ancient burial mounds.

Continuing toward Chon Kemin, the road winds deeper into a broad, beautiful gorge known for its forests, meadows and river-cut slopes. On arrival, settle into your family-run guesthouse — a simple yet warmly welcoming stay that reflects the region’s traditional rural lifestyle. Take in the fresh mountain air and slower pace of village life, with time to unwind or stretch your legs before dinner. As the evening settles over the valley, enjoy a peaceful night surrounded by Kyrgyz nature.

Pre- & Post-Tour Accommodation

Pre- and post-tour accommodation can be booked to extend your stay before or after your tour by contacting our Tours Concierge Team at tours@luxuryescapes.com.

Luxury Escapes uses a range of accommodation partners. For pre- and post-tour accommodation options where we can offer the same hotel as the start and end of your tour, your pre- and post-tour accommodation will be booked independent of your tour. If the hotel for your tour changes, this will be independent of your pre- or post-tour accommodation booking. In this instance, change fees may apply on your pre- or post-tour accommodation. If you choose to change, change fees can be found in your ‘My Escapes’.

For pre- and post-tour accommodation bookings, you may be required to check out of your room and check in again on the first or last day of your tour. You will need to confirm these details directly with the hotel.
