Important:
- The experiences do not need to be redeemed on the same day
- Gondola
- Booking times are not required for the Gondola, present your ticket at the base and you can redeem your roundtrip ride in your chosen timeframe on the day
- Please note the gondola ride takes about 10 minutes to reach the summit
- Gondola is not located in the city centre and is approximately a 15-minute drive from the city. It is close to Lyttelton Port via bus or car
- Transport to the Gondola is available on public bus number 8, departing from the Christchurch Bus Interchange between Lichfield and Tuam Streets behind The Crossing Complex
- For those arriving at the Bus Interchange by tram, this is a short one-block walk from tram stops 5 and 8
- The base station is wheelchair accessible and one wheelchair is available for guests to borrow from the reception
- The cabins are wheelchair accessible for manual wheelchairs no wider than 600mm due to the cabin doorway width
- An elevator is available at the summit station for wheelchair-bound guests to access the café & observatory and function space levels
- Please note that the Christchurch Discovery Ride is not wheelchair accessible
- The use of drones is not permitted at any time at the Christchurch Gondola
- It is recommended to allow 2–3 hours for your visit
- Hop-On Hop-Off Tram
- You will need to collect your physical tickets any attraction or at the Booking Office at stop 1 in Cathedral Junction
- Tickets are valid for hop-on hop-off travel for one calendar day
- There are currently 18 stops throughout central Christchurch. Customers can hop on and off at any stop, and the trams will pause at every stop so there is no need to alert the driver in advance that you would like to board or disembark
- Trams travel every 10–15 minutes in summer and every 15–25 minutes in winter
- The last tram departs stop 1 one hour prior to closing
- Two to three small, folded prams can be accommodated onboard each of the larger trams (please note that the smaller trams are not able to accommodate folded trams so as not to block access to the aisles). Several trams also have pram hooks available to secure up to two prams to the exterior of the trams
- Two of our Trams are able to accommodate up to two manual wheelchairs on board at one time using the wheelchair hoist located in Cathedral Junction (please note that motorised wheelchairs are too heavy for the hoist to lift, and the maximum safe working load is 250kg)
- It is recommended to phone ahead on the day on 03 366 0337 to check whether wheelchair-accessible trams are operating and what time they will be departing from Cathedral Junction
- Please allow approximately 50 minutes for the full circuit
- Punting On The Avon
- Bookings are essential
- Please note this is a shared experience, and you may be in a punt with other guests
- Punts are quite low to the ground due to the river’s height, which may cause issues for participants with mobility issues
- Blankets and umbrellas can be provided if it is cold and wet, however, please dress appropriately for the day
- The punting ride takes approximately 30 minutes
Terms & Conditions:
- All children must be accompanied by an adult
- Photos, video and security images may be taken of participants at any time for security and marketing. You agree that photos may be published online and may be used for promotional purposes
- Unfortunately, the punting experience is not wheelchair accessible. For guests who can step out of their chair, the landing is accessible and you can step into the seat onboard the punt. Likewise, if the guests in your party can lift the chair in and out of the punt, that is also an option
- Transport to departure points are not included. Guests must make their own way to the departure locations for each attraction
- Boat rides are weather-dependent and may be cancelled at the discretion of Christchurch Attractions for passenger and crew safety
Cancellations:
- Cancellations made more than 36 hours before departure date: no cancellation fees apply
- Cancellations within 36 hours of departure date, late arrivals and no-shows: 100% cancellation fee applies
